White Paper Wireless VoIP: A Trojan
Horse?
Why DID WE CHOOSE THIS
TOPIC FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT?
The rapid adoption of new technologies in the home,
driven by operators (broadband/television) and platform vendors in
both the consumer electronics and home computing worlds, has
transformed the home entertainment experience. These evolving and
converging technologies are rapidly redefining entertainment
platforms and services, including home audio, gaming, video
content, digital imaging, and broadcast and cable television
services.
In addition, these trends are impacting the business models of
traditional ad-supported broadcast networks, movie theaters, and
even the neighborhood video rental store.
The rate of diffusion, particularly for music and TV products,
will only quicken between 2005 and 2008 as people begin replacing
older televisions and music systems with more capable and
Internet-ready music systems and HDTVs. PVRs, after a slow start,
are now offered by service providers, with adoption moving beyond
the earliest markets, in PVR households, TV viewing habits change
quite quickly. Meanwhile, more and more households have multiple
PCs and increasingly use one or more of their computers for some
entertainment purpose.
Beyond content protection,
questions about revenue models and accurate forecasting of content
sales, advertising models, and more.
Join us in November to further
explore these markets - media personalization and meaningful
content delivery in digital entertainment.
