The Personalization of Video Content on the Internet

Bradley Horowitz
Director of Technology Development
Search & Marketplace Group
Yahoo! Inc.

Bradley Horowitz will explore the proliferation of video content on the Web and the implications for consumers and content providers as the landscape changes. Yahoo!’s innovative multimedia technologies and partnerships have helped to foster the growth of video content online, while at the same time helping consumers discover, share and create meaningful content. Bradley will discuss the current and future state of multimedia search as it pertains to both the Internet and consumers’ viewing habits, including how consumers will be able to add their own tags to content for future reference and share the tags with others. User generated and shared tags such as ‘this is a good show, with funny actors’ or ‘this is a great crash scene’, are part of Yahoo!’s efforts to help consumers share and recommend customized content based on personal preferences and their social relationships with others.

In addition to providing insight into what meaningful content is, the keynote will also expand on how Yahoo! helps to deliver that content and how independent publishers can utilize Yahoo!’s multimedia search capabilities to promote their own works.
