Fazal Ali

Technologies
Dr. Fazal Ali, senior director
of product management at Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT),
leads the development of wireless platforms for connected
consumer devices. In this role he works closely with OEMs to
bring to market multifunction consumer electronics products
with Internet connectivity.
Before joining Qualcomm, he led the engineering and product
development of several mobile phones including a S60
Smartphone at Nokia for more than 10 years. Prior to that, Dr.
Ali held technical & management positions at Westinghouse
Electric Corporation, HP and Pacific Monolithics. He has 24
years of experience in the wireless communication industry.
Dr. Ali is a recognized leader in the IEEE technical community
and was elected a “Fellow” in 1999. He also served as the
distinguished national lecturer from 2001 to 2003 for the IEEE
on Mobile Phone technologies and Smart Phone applications and
as an invited keynote speaker at various international
conferences. Fazal holds a Ph.D.
in Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey in the
United Kingdom and M.S.E.E., B.S.E.E. and B.S. degrees from
Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. |

David Borison

Dave Borison is
Senior Director of Marketing with TZero
Technologies, the pioneer and worldwide leader in
Ultra Wideband (UWB) and wireless video
technology. Before joining TZero, Dave was

Wi-Fi chipsets, reference designs, and software

Glenn Broderick
Executive Director, Gaming, AT&T
Glenn Broderick is
the Executive Director of Gaming in AT&T’s
Converged Services organization. In this role,
Glenn is responsible for developing AT&T’s
strategic and go to market approach to the
convergence of gaming across AT&T’s Platforms.
Glenn comes to AT&T with 13
years of video games experience that ranges from producing
games editorial to helping launch some of the industry’s
biggest brands. Prior to AT&T, Glenn held management positions
in Coca-Cola’s interactive marketing group, Blockbuster’s
games group, Best Buy’s new business development group, and GT
Interactive’s (now Atari) online marketing group. And before
all that, he wrote for various and sundry game pubs including
the now-deceased Computer Player, Tips & Tricks, ogr.com,
gamecenter.com, and Brady Games.
Glenn holds a BA from Green
Mountain College and an MA from Sacred Heart University. He
lives in San Antonio with his family and a monster home
theater he’s affectionately named HAL 10,000. He enjoys

Scott Brown
Director,

Scott Brown,
director of marketing for the Cisco Media
Solutions Group (CMSG), is responsible for the
communications, marketing and executive
communication activities for the group.
Prior to CMSG, Scott was the
executive communications manager for Dan Scheinman, who
formerly led Corporate Development at Cisco. Scott joined Dan
in the formation of CMSG in December of 2006, and soon
expanded his responsibilities to his current role.
Prior to joining Cisco, Scott
was the executive communications director for Scott McNealy,
Chairman & CEO, Sun Microsystems. He also held a variety of
brand strategy and market research roles at Cunningham
Communications, supporting high-tech clients such as Cisco,
Adobe, Autodesk, Sun Microsystems and PeopleSoft.
Scott was a research principal
and co-author of the Net Impact research series, which
explored the global economic and productivity impact of
Internet technologies. He co-authored an ESOMAR published
paper titled, Net Impact: The Role of Technology in Delivering
Citizen Services.

Richard Bullwinkle
Chief Evangelist, Macrovision
Richard Bullwinkle
joined Macrovision in January 2007 after
Macrovision acquired Mediabolic, where he had
served as vice president of Products and chief
evangelist. Since that time Richard has served as
Macrovision’s chief evangelist responsible for
corporate strategy. In his role, Richard helps
define the direction of the company‘s products and
technology solutions. He represents Macrovision at
numerous industry events to gather market
perspectives and understand trends that have an
impact on the company’s customers and the end
consumer in order to provide recommendations to
the senior team. He also works to establish
standards and lead the discussions to promote a
better consumer experience throughout the CE
industry.
With roles at Mediabolic, Rio
Audio, and TiVo, Richard is well known in consumer electronics
and entertainment industries.
As vice president of Products
and chief evangelist at Mediabolic, Richard helped pioneer the
connected home strategy of connecting entertainment media
devices. As a senior member of Rio Audio's product marketing
team, Richard played an instrumental part in the creation of
some of the most popular MP3 players in the US. At Tivo,
Richard was the company’s chief evangelist and a senior member
of TiVo's product marketing team. He helped create and develop
the TiVo products and was behind the campaign to make the TiVo
product a household name.

Rick Clancy

Rick Clancy is
senior vice president of corporate communications
at Sony Electronics.
In this position,
he is responsible for all of the communications
and public relations activities for the company’s
U.S. electronics business, including a wide
variety of corporate issues, new product launches,
marketing support, technology developments,
third-party relationships, manufacturing
activities in the United States and Mexico, crisis
communications, media relations and employee
communications.
In the rapidly
expanding world of social media, Clancy and his

Clancy joined Sony
in 1990 as a director of corporate communications,
moving on to become a vice president in 1991. He

Burnham Lambert in New York. Prior to that, he
served in various client service and general
management positions in the New York and
Pittsburgh offices of the Creamer Dickson Basford
public relations firm.

firm of E.F. Hutton and at the J. Walter Thomson
advertising agency, where he began his career in
1976 after receiving a B.A. degree, majoring in
communications, from Bethany College in West
Virginia.

Luke D’Arcy

Luke D’Arcy leads

David Foote

Mr. Foote is the
Chief Technology Officer for Hitachi Telecom USA.
He is currently responsible for strategic product
planning, technology strategy, and technical
marketing of fiber access, optical transport, data
switching, home networking and cellular systems.
He has been instrumental in establishing Hitachi’s
network systems business with major North American
service providers like Sprint, Time Warner,
Rocester Tel/Global Crossing, and Norlight. Mr.
Foote has been a member, contributor, and
committee chairman in leading standards

Ed returned to ActiveVideo
Networks in 2006 after having co-founded and served as CEO of
Switched Media, a developer of solutions for mass
customization of live video streams that merged with
ActiveVideo Networks. With Active Video Networks, he has been
responsible for shaping the company’s strategic direction in
the cable, IPTV and consumer electronics spaces. In his
previous engagement with ActiveVideo Networks, from 2001-04,
Ed served as senior vice president of marketing and in an
executive consulting capacity and was instrumental in
launching the company’s HeadendWare product. Previously, Ed
had been president and CEO of RealContax, Inc. and vice
president of marketing and new ventures for enCommerce, Inc.,
an Entrust acquisition. From 1996-99, Ed was senior vice
president of product development and marketing for Elemental
Software, Inc., where he managed the development and launch of
“Drumbeat,” the first drag-and-drop tool for active server
pages. Ed was instrumental in the acquisition of Elemental
Software by Macromedia, and in the sale of Network
Innovations, Inc. to Apple Computer earlier in his career. Ed
also helped to launch RadioMail, the first mobile wireless
e-mail solution. Ed is a graduate of Harvard College, and
earned his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He
enjoys cycling, tennis, travel and cross country skiing. As a
cyclist, he has been a mentor to Team in Training, an
organization that helps individuals achieve personal goals
while raising money to find cures for blood cancers.

Jean-Marc Harion

Mr. Harion brings more than 20
years of leadership and experience to his role as vice
president, business development for France Telecom North
America, where he is responsible for anticipating
opportunities and developing knowledge of the U.S. market for
the France Telecom Group, one of the world’s largest
telecommunications firms.
Mr. Harion’s pan-European
experience includes a broad range of positions: in his
previous role as VP of commercial development for France, he
conceptualized and implemented the distribution strategy for
all FT/Orange products and services in the territory, and was
responsible for merchandising processes and new stores
concepts across both direct and indirect distribution
channels, including more than 1,200 stores.
Prior to that, Mr. Harion was
director of multimedia operations and portals for Orange,
where he monitored more than €800 million of European IP data
traffic and multimedia services per year. He also led cross
country planning of direct marketing and CRM operations,
pricing architecture and positioning of the OrangeWorld
portal, where Orange’s mobile customers can access a range of
information and entertainment sites including music, video,
games, information and sports content, and the implementation
of value-added content services.
From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Harion
was director of professional and innovative services for
OrangeWorld, where he managed industrial partnerships with the
likes of Sun, Intel, Microsoft and others, helped build group
customer propositions for SOHO and SMEs and oversaw the
development of Orange smartphone applications and user
interfaces, including the very first Microsoft-powered SPV
smartphone.
Before joining the FT Group,
Mr. Harion launched Computer Channel, an Internet and TV
company providing training programs and services to companies
in 26 countries. Founded in 1991, Computer Channel had 1999
revenues of €11.5 million when it was acquired by the FT
Group.
Mr. Harion holds a master’s
degree in information management from the Institut d’Etudes
Politiques de Paris and a master and post-graduate degree in
linguistics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. |

Doug Jones
Chief

As chief cable architect at
BigBand Networks, Doug is responsible for the strategic and
technical direction of the company’s solutions for the cable
market. Throughout the course of a 20-year career, Jones has
been a significant contributor to some of the cable industry’s
most significant standardization efforts, including pioneering
development work on the early CableLabs®’ DOCSIS® and
CableHome® specifications. Doug’s work with CableLabs included
work on certification of some of the first DOCSIS products in
1999 and paved the way for significant advances in home

Aslam Khader
Chief Product Officer, Ensequence
Aslam Khader's international
business experience spans the globe, having lived and worked
in India, Japan and the United States throughout his career.
He has held positions in engineering, marketing, business
development and business management during his 19 years in
high technology. At Ensequence,
Khader oversees product development and strategy and builds
strategic industry partnerships. In his most recent position
as vice president of product marketing at Intertrust
Technologies, Khader established product processes, product
roadmaps and product requirements that established Intertrust

Kazuhiro Kitagawa

Kazuhiro Kitagawa is an associate professor of the Graduate
School of Media & Governance, Keio University, Japan. He is
one of the founders and vice-chairman of the Peer-to-peer
Universal Computing Consortium (PUCC) and its chairman for
PUCC Imaging Protocol Working Group. He joined Keio University
in April 2000. From April 2000 to March 2005, he also worked
for the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). He was the chair for

Andy Nix

Andrew obtained his
PhD from the University of Bristol in 1992. He
joined the teaching staff at the University of
Bristol in 1993, and was promoted to Reader in
1998 and to Professor of Wireless Communication
Systems in 2002. Andrew is also a founder director
of Wireless Systems International (1995) and
ProVision Communication Technologies Ltd (2001).
Andrew’s research interests are
focused around the technical challenges of providing
ubiquitous, mass market, low cost wireless solutions using
innovative spectrum and power efficient digital wireless
technologies. He has managed numerous EU, EPSRC and DTI funded
projects and has published in excess of 340 Journal and
Conference papers. He was awarded the IEEE Consumer
Electronics Society 2001 Chester Hall award for one of the
best three papers published in the IEEE CES Transactions.
Andrew was an active member of
the ETSI RES10 committee (1992-1994) that defined Europe’s
first wireless LAN standard (Hiperlan). He published the first
papers back in 1993 describing the use of Orthogonal Frequency
Division Multiplexing (OFDM) for use in high data rate WLANs.
He has published extensively on the performance of IEEE
802.11a/g. Recently he has developed and patented novel
packetisation and link-adaptation algorithms to jointly encode
and transmit video over MIMO channels.
Andrew has established
internationally recognized research groups in wireless digital
communications and radiowave propagation modelling. Key
research achievements include innovative modulation
techniques, low complexity equalisation algorithms, patented
high-performance MIMO reception techniques, and radar-cross
section inspired site specific propagation models.
To date his work has resulted
in 11 patents. |

Stuart
Sikes
President, Parks Associates
Stuart Sikes is the president
of Parks Associates and is responsible for providing Parks
Associates’ clients with a business relationship that
complements their strategic marketing activities.
Stuart has served technology
companies for over twenty years, designing technical service,
software, and hardware solutions for companies ranging from
global semiconductor manufacturers to one of the nation’s
largest airlines. In his positions with companies including
AT&T, NCR, OpenConnect Systems, and Intelligraphics, Stuart’s
roles have included sales, product marketing, marketing
communications, and executive management.
Stuart and the Parks
Associates’ team have worked closely with the world’s leading
semiconductor, software, telecom equipment, and entertainment
companies, assisting these companies with their understanding
of consumer adoption of new technologies.
Stuart holds an MBA from SMU
with a concentration in strategic marketing and a BA in
economics from Vanderbilt University.

Harry Wang
Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates
Harry Wang studies the consumer electronics and entertainment service
industries with a focus on portable CE hardware, software, and
associated applications and services. He is also the lead analyst for
Parks Associates’ digital health research program. Harry has presented
his research in numerous industry events including CES, Digital
Hollywood, Photo Marketing Association Annual Show, American
Telemedicine Association Annual Show, and the World Health Congress as
well as Parks Associates’ CONNECTIONS™ and Fall Focus conferences.
Harry earned his MS degree in marketing research from the
University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds an MBA degree in
finance from Texas Christian University and a BA degree in
international business from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies,
P.R. China.
