Keynote Speakers


Amy L. Banse

PRESIDENT OF COMCAST INTERACTIVE MEDIA, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF COMCAST CORPORATION

Amy Banse serves as President of Comcast Interactive Media (CIM), a division of Comcast Corporation that is responsible for developing and operating Internet businesses focused on entertainment, information and communication, including Comcast.net.

Since founding CIM in December of 2005, Ms. Banse has overseen the acquisition or development of all CIM’s entertainment, information and communications properties. In January 2008, CIM launched Fancast.com a national online entertainment site. In 2007 the division acquired Fandango.com, a top movie and entertainment destination that sells movie tickets at over 15,000 screens and launched a redesign of Comcast.net, the company’s top-ten ranked award winning portal. In 2006, CIM launched Ziddio.com, a national multi-platform user-generated site and GameInvasion.net, a national online site offering for hardcore gaming enthusiasts. That year, they also acquired thePlatform, the industry-leading provider of digital media publishing solutions over broadband and wireless networks.

Ms. Banse, joined Comcast in 1991 as an in-house attorney responsible for programming acquisition and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Content Development, where she oversaw the company’s investments in and the development of cable networks including E!, Style Network, The Golf Channel, VERSUS , G4, and Comcast’s regional sports networks.

Ms. Banse serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Morris Arboretum. In 2007, she was named among the “Top 7 Programmers To Watch” and as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableWorld magazine. She also received “The Distinguished Alumni Award” from Springside School for Girls in 2007. In 2006, she was honored by Girls, Inc. as an outstanding role model for girls during their annual Celebration Luncheon. Banse has also been honored as a “Wonder Woman” of the cable industry by Multichannel News and Broadcasting and Cable’s “Next Wave” of industry leaders.

Ms. Banse has been a featured keynote in venues around the country discussing the opportunities and development in the communications and entertainment industry, most recently with appearances at the Museum of Television and Radio in March 2007 and as a featured keynote in October 2007 at the Web 2.0 Summit which explores the bounds of technology, communication and internet development.

Ms. Banse, received a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Temple University Law School. She and her husband and their four children live in Philadelphia.


Rebecca Jacoby

Sr. VP & CIO, Cisco Systems, Inc.

Chief Information Officer Rebecca Jacoby has more than 11 years of experience at Cisco in a variety of operations and IT leadership roles. Her extensive understanding of business operations helps her advance Cisco’s business through the use of Cisco technology. Jacoby is responsible for making the Cisco IT group a strategic business partner and for producing significant business value for Cisco in the form of financial performance, customer satisfaction and loyalty, market share, and productivity.

Previously at Cisco, Jacoby had responsibility for customer service and operational systems and played a key leadership role on the Business Process Operations Council, which drives the transformation agenda at Cisco. Her strong commitment to operational excellence, innovative approach to business problems, and aptitude for partnering cross-functionally are reshaping and elevating the role of IT at Cisco.

Jacoby joined Cisco in 1995 as senior manufacturing operations manager. In 1996, she was recognized with the YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award. She was director of manufacturing for the Access business unit prior to establishing the central manufacturing planning function in 1997 and assuming responsibility for manufacturing IT in 1999. In 2003 she became vice president for customer service and operational systems.

Prior to joining Cisco, Jacoby held a variety of planning and operations positions at UB Networks, Inc. and Amdahl Corporation.
Jacoby has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of the Pacific and a master’s in business administration from Santa Clara University.


Paul Liao

Chief Technology Officer, Panasonic North America

Dr. Liao holds the positions of Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Panasonic Corporation of North America, and is the President of its Panasonic R&D Company of America. Dr. Liao serves on the Board of the Panasonic Foundation, is a member of the FCC’s Technological Advisory Council, and serves on the Consumer Electronics Association Board of Industry Leaders.

Prior to joining Panasonic, he held a number of positions at Bell Communications Research, Inc. (Bellcore) and Bell Laboratories including as the Vice President for Emerging Networks, Assistant Vice President of the Solid State Research Laboratory, the Network Systems Research Laboratory, and the Network Architecture and Foundations Center.

He is a past President of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society, and a recipient of the IEEE Millennium Medal. Dr. Liao is a former editor of the Journal of the Optical Society of America B: Optical Physics, and has been Co-Editor for the Academic Press Series entitled Quantum Electronics. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Internet Home Alliance, and of the Board of Trustees of Brookdale Community College located in Lincroft, New Jersey.

Dr. Liao is a fellow of the IEEE, the American Physical Society, and the Optical Society of America and was part of the Leadership New Jersey Class of 1989.


Fred McIntyre

Senior Vice President, AOL Video, AOL

Fred McIntyre is Senior Vice President of AOL Video, where he directs the team that leads and executes AOL's comprehensive strategy for video and operates AOL's video products across AOL's network of Web properties. McIntyre joined AOL in 1999 and has worked in a variety of capacities, including most recently Vice President of Programming & Media Networks for AOL for Broadband. He also spent several years as Vice President of Business Development for AOL Entertainment where his responsibilities included mapping and implementing the strategy that established AOL as a premier online destination and industry partner for Games, Movies, Music, Radio, Television, and Ticketing. Prior to AOL, McIntyre held senior management positions at Spinner.com, VIBE Magazine and SPIN Magazine.


Phil McKinney

Vice President & CTO, Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard

Mr. Philip McKinney oversees the long-range technical strategy, research and development and innovation programs for the Personal Systems Group. Mr. McKinney is recognized, through his worldwide speaking engagements, blog and weekly pod cast as a leading authority on innovation and its impact on business, industries, economies and society.

Prior to his current role, Phil was the Vice President and CTO for HP's Network and Server Provider Business, responsible for the executive CTO relationship, long-range strategy and R&D for HP's largest industry vertical business segment.

Before joining HP, Phil was engaged in the day-to-day operational challenges as the Senior Vice President and founding CIO for Teligent, a global provider of fixed-wireless services. At Teligent, he led the strategy development, IT infrastructure build out and on-going operations, managing a team of more than 1,000 technology professionals.

Prior to joining Teligent, McKinney was the senior executive responsible for the Communication Industry Consulting Practice at Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) where he directed consulting engagements worldwide. Earlier in his career at CSC, he oversaw the communication industry managed services division that provided mission critical system outsourcing for more than 165 network and service providers worldwide.

McKinney currently serves on the Board of Directors for Signafor, Inc.

Timo Auer, Vice President, TeliaSonera Plc, Broadband Services Timo Auer (PhD) has been working at TeliaSonera since 1997 in various management positions. At TeliaSonera he has been heading long term R&D activities, product management and development as well as IT.


Saul Berman

Media & Entertainment, Global & Americas Strategy Leader, IBM Global Business Services

Saul J. Berman is the Global Lead Strategy Partner for the Media and Entertainment Practice as well as a Global Strategy & Change Services Leader at IBM Global Business Services (GBS). Prior to joining IBM, Saul was the Global Strategic Change Leader at PwC Consulting. He was also previously with The Boston Consulting Group, and a divisional Vice President with Broadway Department Stores and an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Southern California. Dr. Berman has more than 25 years of consulting experience advising senior management of large corporate and start-up organizations. He has directed engagements addressing issues of strategy, organization, and operations. He has worked extensively on issues of competitive positioning, differentiation, new business plans & strategies, new business models, growth, operational & cost improvement, operations/manufacturing strategy, organizational design and enterprise transformation. His clients have included most of the major media companies as well as internet companies, telecommunication companies, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers and automotive companies in the United States, Japan, Europe and Australia. Dr. Berman holds a Ph.D. in Management and Information Systems and a MBA in Production Systems and Operations Research from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University in New York. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia


SCOTT BIRNBAUM

Vice President, Samsung LCD Business

Scott Birnbaum is vice president of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Business at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc., responsible for sales operations throughout the Americas. In this capacity, he focuses on working closely with customers to develop new applications for LCDs, while building strategic OEM relationships in the TV, PC monitor, notebook and cellular phone sectors.

Birnbaum brings with him a thorough “hands on” understanding of all aspects of the electronics value chain, leveraging more than 20 years of leadership in sales, marketing and operational management roles within the LCD, semiconductor, electronic manufacturing services and distribution industries.

Birnbaum previously served as senior vice president of global business development at All-American Semiconductor, the fourth largest semiconductor distributor in North America. Before that, he served for four years in global and national sales positions at Sharp Electronics. Earlier, he held a number of sales and marketing management positions at Texas Instruments over a 10-year span.

Birnbaum holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Ohio State University.


Stephen Blum

President, Tellus Venture Associates

Stephen Blum is president of Tellus Venture Associates®, a business development and market analysis consultancy for the digital media and telecommunications industries. He is a 30-year industry veteran and recognized as an expert in developing new digital consumer products, wireless and fiber optic broadband systems, and satellite broadcasting platforms and services. His accomplishments include playing key roles in the development and launch of DBS and satellite radio systems, including DirecTV. He is the author of seven books on the Internet and satellite broadcasting and is a frequent contributor to professional journals and industry events.

Located on California's Monterey Peninsula, Tellus Venture Associates serves start-up companies, established corporations, government agencies and private communities in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Blum is Vice President ex officio of the Society of Satellite Professionals International, a member of the New Zealand Wireless Forum, a director of the Rotary Club of Monterey Pacific and a past Vice President of the World Affairs Council of the Monterey Bay Area. He holds an A.B. in History from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. in East Asia Studies from the University of Washington, and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, and has received several major professional honors, including the PRSA Silver Anvil and the Ellen B. Scripps Fellowship. He is a nationally ranked triathlete and a multiple Ironman finisher.


Richard Brand

Co-chair, IPTV Interoperability Forum, ATIS; Director, Video Solutions, Nortel

Richard C. Brand works at Nortel as the Director of IPTV Solutions Architecture and Applications where he manages the establishment of new global IPTV standards and applications. He serves with Verizon as the Vice Chair of the ATIS IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) which has been established by ATIS to develop standards and related technical activities that enable the interoperability, interconnection and implementation of IPTV systems and services, including video on demand and interactive TV services. Brand has a background in voice, video and data communication networking and management and has been an active member and participant in the IEEE 802.3 Working Group for Ethernet standards going back to the 80’s where he lead the formation of the new standardization project now identified as Ethernet AV. He was a founder of the Metro Ethernet Forum and served as the President of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance. Prior to joining Nortel, he was a founder of two video network integration companies and also served as the President and board Chair of the Multi Media Communications Forum while an employee of National Semiconductor Corp.


Lew Brown

Executive Vice President of Marketing, Zensys

 

Lew Brown is the Executive Vice President of Marketing for Zensys, Inc., a leading provider of wireless networking technology for control and status reading applications. Lew joined the company in August 2006 and brings extensive knowledge with over 30 years of experience with the Consumer Electronics industry, mainly focusing on the retail, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.

In his new role, Lew will be responsible for the day-to-day management of marketing activities with the ultimate goal of establishing Z-Wave as the standard in wireless home control. Lew will also be responsible for channel marketing, marketing communications, product management and overall product strategy.

Prior to joining Zensys, Lew recently was the Director of Strategic Business Development at Monster Cable, a renowned CE accessory manufacturer. He also previously held the position of CEO at Mobilworks, a venture backed chain of high-end mobile electronics stores.


William Knox Carey

Director, Technology Initiatives, Intertrust

 

Knox Carey is the Director of Technology Initiatives at Intertrust Technologies Corporation. He joined Intertrust in 1999 as a member of the Technology Initiatives staff, focusing on standardization and strategic business development in the media and entertainment space. He has been an active leader and contributor in standards such as MPEG, OMA, and Marlin, and serves as chairman of the architecture working committee for the Coral Consortium DRM interoperability initiative. Dr. Carey joined Intertrust from Sony Corporation, where he was a senior research scientist in robust image and video compression. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1998 and holds ten US and international patents.


Brian Chamberlin

VP, Interactive, NDS

Brian Chamberlin heads the Interactive Projects Group at NDS’ Southern California Office. This role leverages Brian’s 10 years of experience in software development and his hands-on experience on a variety of platforms including MediaHighway, OCAP, OpenTV and PowerTV to help customers create the best iTV experience possible on the given platform.

In addition, Brian works closes with NDS’ marketing department serving as an advocate for iTV to the creative community. Brian is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Interactive Peer Group and served as a mentor to the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Enhanced TV Workshop for 5 years.


Jim Chase

Director of Business Development, Ubicom, Inc.

Jim Chase is responsible for driving the strategy and execution for Ubicom’s connected CE solutions. Prior to joining Ubicom, Jim spent five years at Zoran, a solutions provider for digital entertainment and imaging, most recently serving as the product line director for DVD Recorder Products. In addition, Jim was the lead market evangelist for connected CE devices at Zoran, which included initiatives for networked digital photo frame and networked DVD player solutions. Previously, Jim held several executive level marketing roles at LSI Logic/C-Cube Microsystems' Home Entertainment Division, focusing on DVD and related consumer electronics IC businesses. Jim has over 20 years of industry experience, including roles at National Semiconductor and Analog Devices. He received both his BSEE and Master of Engineering degrees from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Rick Cnossen

Technical Working Group Chair, Continua Health Alliance; Manager, Medical Device Interoperability Standards, Digital Health Group, Intel Corp.

Rick is leading a team in Intel's Digital Health Standards & Policy Division that is focused on medical device interoperability standards and eco-system enabling activities. His team is working with several leading companies in the consumer healthcare industry to organize existing technologies and standards into a framework for the enablement of new, compelling consumer health and wellness products and services. He currently holds Chair positions for the Continua Health Alliance Technical Working Group (WG) and for the ISO/IEEE 11073 Medical Information Bus WG and is a participating member of the ISO/IEEE 11073 Personal Health Data WG, the ISO/IEEE 11073 RF Wireless WG, the Health Level Seven (HL7) Device WG, and the Bluetooth Medical Device Profile WG. Throughout his career, he has been involved in many industry technology and standards development efforts including Advanced Telecommunications Architecture (ATCA) Manageability Specification, Tactical Defense data collection / analysis, Hierarchical Data Assimilation and Storage, and High Performance Computing.


Patrick Cosson

VP, Marketing, VUDU

Patrick Cosson is VUDU’s Vice President of Marketing. Patrick is responsible for all aspects of VUDU’s marketing execution including product marketing, branding, user experience, consumer education, channel marketing, and public relations. Prior to joining VUDU, Patrick was Vice President of Marketing at Slim Devices, maker of the Squeezebox and Transporter digital media adapters. In this role, Patrick led continuous sales growth and positive market response to Slim Devices products, culminating in the sale of the company to Logitech in 2006. Prior to Slim Devices, Patrick served as Executive Director of Product Strategy at AOL Music, where he drove product development and branding strategy for Spinner and Winamp music products. Previously, Patrick had a successful tenure at Creative Labs, where he was responsible for marketing communications and internet marketing. Patrick holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Patrick recently presented at iHollywood Forum’s Digital Media Summit, and will be a featured presenter at Digital Hollywood Building Blocks 2008 (August 5-7, San Jose). Patrick has also presented at CES (2007), as well as a host of CEDIA events.


Kelly Davis-Felner

Senior Manager, Wi-Fi Alliance

Kelly Davis-Felner is a Senior Manager for the Wi-Fi Alliance, where she works on new program development, strategic planning, market research, international market development, and communications. Kelly has spoken at industry events worldwide about Wi-Fi’s impact on applications, devices, and users. Before joining the Wi-Fi Alliance in 2004, Kelly enjoyed roles in consumer and business marketing, as well as in non-profit services and management. Kelly holds a BA from Loyola University of New Orleans, a Masters in Social Work from Tulane University, and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.


Martin DeBono

VP, Sales and Business Development, Pure Networks

Martin DeBono has been involved in the home networking space for the past four years and has worked with leading MSOs to develop home networking strategies that reduce operational costs while improving customer satisfaction.

In his current role, DeBono leads the Sales and Business Development group at Pure Networks. Previously, he was the Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Insightful Corporation (NASDAQ: IFUL) and prior to that he served as a senior analyst at Gomez Advisors, a technology research firm and as Director, CRM Products at Siebel Systems (NASDAQ: SEBL). At Siebel, he led product development and marketing of Siebel's industry-leading applications, such as Sales Automation, Sales Analytics, Service, and Call Center, and was instrumental in the shift towards creating and marketing business process solutions. Under DeBono's leadership the software solutions for which he was responsible consistently earned the highest marks from independent analysts, including Gartner, Meta Research, and Frost and Sullivan. He also served as a nuclear submarine officer onboard the USS GEORGIA and earned an MBA from Harvard University.

Pure Networks offers technologies and solutions to leading industry partners, including broadband service providers and consumer electronics manufacturers, to help service their customers more efficiently and effectively. The company has received accolades from publications like eWeek, PC Magazine, TWICE and U.S. News and World Report, and it received Laptop magazine’s prestigious Editors’ Choice Award for 2006 and 2007.


Ray DeRenzo

SVP, Product, Programming and Marketing, MobiTV

As Senior Vice President of Product, Programming and Marketing, Ray DeRenzo is charged with driving many areas of growth for MobiTV. DeRenzo works with media companies, TV broadcasters, wireless carriers and enabling third parties such as device manufacturers and system integrators, to drive adoption of MobiTV.

Prior to MobiTV, DeRenzo was Vice President of Business and Market Development for Telephia, where he focused on European market entry for this leading provider of syndicated competitive performance information and wireless consulting services. Previously, DeRenzo was Chief Marketing Officer at Vodafone, where he was responsible for all aspects of product management, development, sales and support of Vodafone’s Global Service Delivery Platform. Prior to Vodafone, DeRenzo focused on new product development for AirTouch Communications, a developer of new voice and data services.

DeRenzo began his career at Pacific Bell/Pacific Telesis, where he spent nearly 18 years in a variety of roles. He was a founding member of the team at Pacific Bell Mobile Services and also held roles in Product Management, Business Development, Strategy and Planning.

DeRenzo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Regional Planning from California State University (San Francisco) and a Masters in Business Administration from St. Mary’s College.


Nick Desai

CEO, Juice Wireless

Nick Desai is the co-founder and CEO of Juice Wireless. He is a mobile industry veteran, serial entrepreneur and visionary.

Nick is co-inventor of Juice’s flagship, award-winning mobile social broadcasting application called JuiceCaster. For Juice, Nick has recruited a world-class management team and raised $16 million in investment capital from global leaders Qualcomm, Citizen’s Communications and 21Ventures. He has led strategic positioning and business development for JuiceCaster, getting the service distributed on 10 leading carrier decks worldwide.

Nick successfully negotiates partnerships with big-brand content providers such as VOGUE Magazine to deliver fresh video content to mobile users. Nick and his team recently developed the world’s first Mobile Video Search (MVS) technology, enabling anyone with a video-capable cell phone to instantly watch desired videos on-demand.

Nick’s goal in the mobile-social networking space is to continuously develop new applications, features and tools that enhance people’s lives by allowing them to stay connected with their friends and family in real-time, from anywhere at anytime.

When Juice started as a mobile marketing business, Nick led sales and product development, securing customers and partners including Conde Nast, Teen Vogue, GQ Magazine, Sony Connect, Gillette, AOL, Glamour Magazine, Epicurious.com and many others. In addition to JuiceCaster, Nick invented Juice’s innovative mobile products including MobileBday.com, a free SMS based birthday reminder service. and Epi-To-Go, the award-winning mobile grocery shopping list application.

Prior to Juice Wireless, Nick was a consulting partner at Sennari Games, which built Jamdat’s hugely-successful bowling game. Nick was also a mobile strategy consultant to Vibe Magazine. In 2002, he joined Lemko Corporation as a principal member of the founding team. Lemko is a highly successful market leader in IP-based cellular infrastructure solutions. For Lemko, Nick led business development with top-tier carriers, including Cingular / AT&T, Reliance Infocomm, Idea Cellular, Sprint PCS and Bharti Telecom. Prior to Lemko, in 1998, Nick was founder and CEO of Zkey.com, a multi-award winning market leader and early trailblazer in consumer mobile applications. Zkey was the first mobile address book and email WAP site available in the US, launching in 1999. Amongst many other awards and accolades, Zkey was named PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice and Top 100 sites on the Internet two years in a row. For Zkey, Nick raised nearly $15million in venture capital from Oracle, France Telecom, Omninet Capital and others. Nick also secured key customer deals with Virgin and Sprint PCS.

Nick is a frequent invited industry speaker and author. He has been an invited speaker at venues including the 2008 Red Herring North America conference, NAB 2008, MeM ‘08, CENEXT 2008, CONNECTIONS™, BREW 2007 Conference, the IAB MIXX Conference, CTIA, Under the Radar, the Mobile Social Networking Conference by Informa and the Harvard Business School. Currently, Nick writes a regular column for leading online magazines MediaPost.com and iMediaConnection. From 2001 to 2004, Nick wrote a regular column called the CEO Diary for California CEO Magazine.

Nick holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Irvine. Nick lives in Redondo Beach, California and enjoys cooking, surfing and playing with his nephew in his free time.


Christopher Dow

Director, Software Development, Architecture, Macrovision Solutions Corporation

Mr. Dow is responsible for software architecture for Consumer Electronics in Macrovision’s Product Development organization. Prior to his current role, Mr. Dow was responsible for software development, support and architecture for Macrovision’s connected products engineering organization.

Mr. Dow has nearly 20 years of experience in the fields of computer graphics, multimedia and bioinformatics. Prior to Macrovision, Mr. Dow was director of software development at Mediabolic, which was acquired by Macrovision in January 2007. Prior to Mediabolic, Mr. Dow held management, engineering, and architecture roles at companies including Palm, SONICblue, Red Jade, Inc., 3dfx Interactive, da Vinci Time & Space, Kubota Graphics Corporation, Intelligenetics, Inc., and DNAStar, Inc. Mr. Dow has authored several patents on commercial skipping technology.


Pat Dunbar

Director of Mediaroom & Connected TV Advertising, Microsoft Corp.

Pat Dunbar is a recognized leader in the world of advertising and New Media, with twenty years experience in the development, marketing and management of online/internet/advanced television services. As Director of connected TV Advertising for Microsoft TV, Ms. Dunbar focuses on bringing new media experiences to Microsoft’s range of video platforms.

Prior to joining Microsoft TV, Ms. Dunbar co-founded the DiMAS (Digital Media and Advertising Strategy) Group. The DiMAS Group was responsible for numerous groundbreaking, cross industry initiatives to advance emerging media ad concepts. These solutions included AdLab, a multi-client research initiative and the ID!A Group, a cross industry working group with over 100 corporate leaders. DMAS Group also spawned BlackArrow, a venture backed startup focusing on digital advertising technologies, of which she was also co-founder of the company.

Prior to her tenure at DiMAS Group, Ms. Dunbar served as Senior Vice President at Ford Financial, as well as Vice President for Electronic Commerce for GMAC. It was at GM that she created the award-winning, definitive online financing site. MNs. Dunbar was also instrumental in the launch of a dealer to dealer auction service that sold over $1B in vehicles in its first year. Other corporate work included NBC, HBO, and Bank of America where she created the first online banking service.

Ms. Dunbar holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Northwestern University.

Martin joined Vollee from mobile solutions provider Openwave Systems, formerly known as phone.com, where he served as General Manager and Senior Vice President. At Openwave, he was responsible for the company’s largest division, Openwave Global Services, accounting for approximately half the company’s revenue. In his role he oversaw the delivery of mobile applications including music, community and messaging that are used daily by millions of subscribers.

Previously Martin was Vice President of Sales and Operations for engineering consultancy inCode Wireless (acquired by Verisign Nasdaq: VRSN) and at Deloitte's Consulting he was the partner who founded and led Deloitte’s Global Wireless Practice.

Thomas Ellsworth

Thomas Ellsworth is a deeply experienced veteran of the wireless industry. Before joining GoTV, Ellsworth served as Executive Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development from 2001 to 2005 at JAMDAT Mobile. Inc. (NASDAQ: JMDT) where he was part of the management team that saw the company complete its highly successful IPO in September of 2004. Prior to JAMDAT he was Vice President of Incubator Development and Senior Director of Business Development in the wireless division of Sprint. In that role, Ellsworth oversaw the Sprint incubator joint venture that led to the formation of wireless companies - including JAMDAT Mobile and Boingo.

While at Sprint, Ellsworth also launched the 1st CDMA market in the US and developed what became the “Free and Clear” rate plans — a pioneering change in the wireless industry. Earlier in his career he held selling, marketing and strategy roles at California Amplifier, Inc., L.A. Cellular (acquired by AT&T) and IBM. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration - Marketing from California State University, Northridge and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Doug Fikse

Douglas A. Fikse currently serves as the president for On-Q/Legrand, the leader in home systems technology.

Mr. Fikse was the founding partner, president and CEO of On-Q Technologies, Inc. which was acquired by Legrand North America in 2005. The company, also known as On-Q Home, was the leader in the home networking systems market, offering customers friendlier and simpler ways to enhance any home with the intelligence to make a profound impact on daily living. The company was well-regarded in the industry receiving several awards for excellence in product.

Prior to On-Q Technologies, Mr. Fikse joined start-up company, Smart American Home Centers (SAHC) developing a one-stop dealer channel for home automation systems. In this role, Mr. Fikse was responsible for the product support, service and marketing. Mr. Fikse joined AMP Inc. in 1994 upon the acquisition of SAHC where he co-founded the successful OnQ® Home Wiring System in late 1995. Mr. Fikse led a management buyout of the AMP division in April of 1999 and became the president of On-Q Technologies.

Mr. Fikse began his career developing military weapon systems, industrial pumps and valves for molten steel and robotic systems with the Westinghouse Electric Company for more than 13 years. He held many engineering and management roles with Westinghouse, including the management of a classified SDI experiment on space power systems.

Mr. Fikse received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Applied Mechanics from U.C. San Diego and his Masters of Business Administration in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Pittsburgh.


Meredith Flynn-Ripley

Meredith Flynn-Ripley was appointed CEO of Integra5 in March of 2006 and has spent the majority of her career building and leading new companies.

Prior to working with Integra5, Meredith served as president and CEO of three private software companies in the Boston area; Stargus, a broadband cable network management software company with customers such as Time-Warner Cable and UPC, which was acquired by C-COR.net; Seaport Software Solutions, a company specializing in application delivery and management technology for Fortune 100 enterprises that was acquired by Softricity; and Into Networks, which provides a software-on-demand technology platform designed exclusively for broadband networks.

Meredith was a founding member of Road Runner, the high speed data joint venture of Time Warner, MediaOne (now Comcast), Microsoft and Compaq (now HP), where she served as Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to Road Runner, Meredith was Vice President of Product Development at MediaOne Broadband Internet Services. In that position she was responsible for product management of MediaOne Express, the company’s high speed data service, and DiveIn its local online programming initiative.

Earlier in her career, Meredith held senior management positions at US WEST Communications, including head of Content Strategy for the Interactive Television trial in Omaha. She pioneered the interactive media and technology space starting back in 1985 at Ogilvy & Mather Interactive, working with clients such as American Express and AT&T in mediums including online services and interactive television.

Meredith was recently named one of the “Top Women in Technology” by CableWorld magazine, “Telecom All-Star” by Mass High Tech and “Executive of the Year” by the Mass Technology Leadership Council.


Rob Gelphman

Rob Gelphman is chairman of the marketing work group for MoCA. As chair, he oversees all communications outreach, internally and externally, in the U.S. and internationally.

Throughout his career, Rob has focused and worked for companies and organizations in networking and communications, consumer electronics and digital media distribution.

He has been published in numerous newspapers and magazines on topics including marketing, branding, positioning, digital media and other communications areas.

He is an adjunct instructor in the marketing department at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Chano Gomez

Chano is VP marketing with leading powerline communications semiconductor supplier DS2 and Director of DS2´s US office. He previously worked as VP for Technology and Strategic Partnerships and as Customer Support Manager responsible for coordination of all DS2’s support activities to its international customers, including product development support, field support, network design and deployment support and technical training.

Chano joined DS2 in 1999 as a Design Engineer with the System Architecture Group, focusing on the design and development of the MAC (Medium Access Control) and QoS (Quality of Service) mechanism of DS2's

Takao Gondo

Mr. Takao Gondo is the Director of HD-PLC Alliance Office North America as an alliance of voluntary groups. HD-PLC Alliance focuses on expanding the use of the HD-PLC fast power line communication technology and further improved communication compatibility among products employing the HD-PLC. In addition, he serves as the Director of Panasonic Communications Liaison Office America (PCLA) located in San Jose, California from 2007.

Prior to this role, Mr. Gondo engaged a development of the base line technology of HD-PLC in Panasonic Communications Co., Ltd., where he was responsible for the planning & developing HD-PLC for overseas market, product specification definition for next model and promotion of standardization activities such as IEEE, ITU-T and so on as well.

Mr. Gondo joined Kyushu Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd. (Present: Panasonic Communications Co., Ltd.) in 1995 and he engaged Radio Frequency Design of PHS (Personal Handy Phone System in Japan) and System Design of WLL (PHS based Wireless Local Loop).

HD-PLC Alliance has pursued to expand the HD-PLC technology to new areas such as Access/Utility/Mobile and more and has also been collaborating with various industries aggressively. This is because HD-PLC Alliance’s basic concept is to create “Green Ubiquitous Network Society” through the HD-PLC technology.


Marc Goodman

Director, Alcatel-Lucent

Marc Goodman is a Director at Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) in the North America Marketing Group where he is focusing on forward-looking trends and technologies. He is a subject matter expert in social networking and for the past few years, has been researching social networking applications and how teens and young adults interact with this growing trend of self-expression and communication.

Marc is also responsible for the creation and on-going management of Alcatel-Lucent’s “island” in the virtual world Second Life, where he launched a highly publicized innovation contest for next generation 4G wireless applications. Additionally, he manages the University Innovations Program which partners with universities to develop concept demos of futuristic ultra-high bandwidth applications such as augmented reality and mobile versions of massively multiplayer on-line games (MMOG). He has been at ALU for over nine years and has held positions in global marketing, business development, and new offer development.

Past professional experiences include marketing and product strategy at ITW, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as well as two entrepreneurial startups. Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Grallert

Managing Director, Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, HHI

Hans-Joachim Grallert received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Communications Engineering from the Rheinisch-Westfälisch-Technische-Hochschule Aachen, Germany, in 1974 and 1977, respectively. For his doctorate thesis he received the 1977 award of the German Information Technology Society. Prof. Grallert joined the Fraunhofer-Institute for Telecommunications.- Heinrich-Hertz-Institut – for the first time in 2004 as a consultant. In April 2005 he became managing director of the institute. Since 2005 he is Full Professor for Telecommunications at the Technische Universität Berlin at the Institute for Communications Systems. Before working for the Heinrich-Hertz-Institute Prof. Grallert was Managing Director of Marconi Communications Ondata GmbH and Vice President of Marconi Optical Networks, Backnang, Germany (2001-2003). From 1981 to 2001 he was with Siemens AG, Munich, eventually as Member of the Board and Senior Vice President of Siemens Information and Communication Optical Networks.

Until now he is member of several committees concerning optical communication technologies e.g. Chairman of European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC 2000), in Munich, and of ECOC2007, in Berlin. He is chairman of the advisory board for “FiberComm Fair”, Munich, and member of Information Technical Society (ITG) in the committees for “Optical Transmission Systems” and in the committee for “Informations- und Systemtheorie”.


Ken Haase

Sr. Director, Product Line Management, Motorola

Ken Haase serves as Sr. Director of Product Line Management in the Broadband Solutions Group within Motorola’s Home and Networks Mobility Business. He is responsible for Motorola’s Cable Voice & Data CPE and DSL CPE product portfolios.

Mr. Haase joined Motorola through the acquisition of Netopia, Inc. in February of 2007. At Netopia, he served as Vice President of Product Management and Technical Services. Ken has over 20 years of experience in the computer networking industry.

Ken started his career at NYNEX where as both a Systems and Project Engineer, he designed and installed networks for Fortune 500 companies in the Northeastern portion of the United States. Prior to working at Netopia, Ken held the position of Director of Product Marketing for Proxim with responsibility for indoor Wi-Fi and outdoor Broadband Wireless product portfolios. He also served as Vice President of Marketing at Farallon Communications where he introduced the first 802.11 wireless networking products for Apple Macintosh computers. Ken also held the General Chairman position at the HomeRF Working Group.


David Haadsma

David is CEO of Bsecure Technologies of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He started his career in manufacturing technology and ERP software consulting. For over 10 years, he led development teams in designing software for just in time automotive manufacturing systems. With the startling growth of new internet dangers to families, David co-founded Bsafe Online in 2001 to create a new client / server parental controls technology in a world of “fat client” competitors. Bsecure Technologies was formed more recently to address the need for device based, all-in-one security and parental controls solutions. The recent launch of D-Link’s Securespot 2.0 Security and Parental Controls managed service is an industry first with its layered defense architecture (cloud/device/endpoint) and graphical web managed interface. David has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Materials and Operations Management from Michigan State University.


Barry Haaser

Dalen Harrison

Matt Harrison

Matt Harrison is General Manager of TI’s Medical Business Group in HPA, where he directs the definition, development and delivery of semiconductors for medical devices.

Matt began his career at TI in 1996 as a technical sales representative. Between 1999 and 2001, Matt played strategic roles in growing TI’s optical networking and digital power businesses, and he led the digital power business until 2003. In 2003, Matt left TI to co-found Commoca where he served as COO and was a member of the board of directors. In August 2006, Matt rejoined TI to help drive TI’s medical initiative.

Brian Henrichs

Prior to joining Actiontec, Henrichs had over 25 years of telecommunications experience with a strong focus on consumer premises equipment. He served as Director of CPE Marketing and Engineering for Teltrend Inc. before it was acquired by Westell, joined Westell as an engineering supervisor in 1993, and rose to become Vice President and General Manager of Broadband CPE in 1999. He later served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development for General Bandwidth (now GenBand) and Chief Technology Officer for HyperEdge Corporation (now part of Westell). Henrichs has also launched many interoperability and standardization initiatives, helped found and served as the first technical working group chair of the DSL Forum, authored several articles on telecommunications topics, and been a speaker at industry forums and conferences.


David Henry

David Henry serves as NETGEAR's Director of Product Marketing for consumer products. Most recently, he was the product line manager for consumer routers and advanced wireless (802.11n) products. Chris Hock

Chris Hock is an experienced technology professional in the field of multiplatform media distribution. Hock joined Adobe in 2005 through the acquisition of Macromedia. Brad Hunt

Mr. Hunt is the President of Digital Media Directions, a digital media consulting firm working with clients in the consumer electronics, computer, television, and motion picture industries. His consulting has involved work in digital rights management, online content distribution, content fingerprinting & watermarking, high-definition DVD managed copying, PCTV, home media servers, digital mobile TV broadcasting, and 3-D home video. Previous to forming his consulting company, Mr. Hunt was the Chief Technology Officer for the Motion Picture Association of America for nearly eight years. At the MPAA, he worked closely with the six major studios on content protection technology initiatives, standards, and policymaking. Prior to the MPAA, he held the position of President & CEO of Cintel Inc., a manufacturer of digital film post-production hardware and software. Prior to Cintel, he was the Sr. Vice President of Technology for All Post Inc., a Los Angeles based video and audio post-production house where he established one of the first DVD authoring and MPEG compression facilities in the U.S. Mr. Hunt also had a long career at the Eastman Kodak Company where he held jobs in research & development, marketing, international sales, and strategic planning and was responsible for launching Kodak’s Digital Motion Imaging Division. Mr. Hunt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. degree from the William E. Amit Jain

VP and GM of CDMA Femtocell Business Unit, Airvana

Amit Jain is the Vice President and General Manager of Airvana’s CDMA femtocell business unit. Prior to starting the CDMA femtocell business unit in early 2006, Amit lead product management of Airvana’s EV-DO radio access network product line where he helped build a market-leading roadmap for Airvana’s products and managed relationships with Airvana’s OEM customers. Prior to joining Airvana in 2001, Mr. Jain was a Staff Software Engineer at QUALCOMM, responsible for the development of CDMA network planning software. Jim Johnson

Mr. Johnson co-founded uControl in 2005 and serves as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board. Most recently, he was the Vice President and General Manager of the Service Provider Business Unit of TippingPoint, which was acquired by 3Com in February 2005. Prior to TippingPoint, Mr. Johnson was Vice President of Sales at BroadJump, which was acquired by Motive Communications in February 2003. Prior to BroadJump, he served as National Sales Manager for Cisco Systems ADSL Portfolio. Before Cisco's acquisition of NetSpeed, he served as the Director of North American Telco Sales for NetSpeed. Jim Jones

Managing Director, Scale Venture Partners

Jim's investment focus is in semiconductor, MEMS components and enterprise systems. Jim joined Scale Venture Partners in 2000 and currently sits on the Boards of Auvitek, CipherMax, Discera, Entone, Innovative Micro Technology, NComputing, and Xceive. Jim was also responsible for ScaleVP's investment in Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ: MPWR).

Prior to Scale Venture Partners, Jim led product management, product marketing and business development groups at 3Com Corporation, where he managed a diverse $1.2 Billion product line. Dave Kamalsky

Dave Kamalsky is the Program Manager for Virtual Worlds Research within the IBM Almaden Research Center, and one of the founders of IBM's Digital Convergence Emerging Business Opportunity group. Dave has a diverse career at IBM spanning 17 years working as a VM Systems Programmer, I/T Architect, Software Engineer, and Project Manager. Past notable projects include co-founding IBM's first online incubation research laboratory "alphaworks" (1996), "Extreme Blue" recruitment program at the Almaden Research Center (2000), and large scale text data analytics service "Webfountain" (2001). In 2006, Dave helped form and lead an internal community of over 5000 IBMers as "Guildmaster", working in Second Life (and other platforms), defining IBM's next generation collaboration use of Virtual Worlds. Prior to 4Homemedia, Mr. Kayton co-founded and was CEO of home automation software solutions developer Nearmedia, which was acquired by 4HomeMedia. Prior to that, Mr. Kayton was the Senior VP of Marketing & Business Development for PRISMIQ, credited as the inventor of the digital media adapter product category, and winner of 16 Editor Choice and seven major “consumer product of the year” awards in its first year on the market. Mr. Kayton joined PRISMIQ through their acquisition of Paros Software, a web services software firm he co-founded and served as CEO. Earlier, he co-founded and was VP of Marketing & Online Services at 2Wire, a pioneer and current leader in broadband residential gateways (over 15M units sold) and home networking peripherals. Mr. Kayton was also the Director of Video Products for Polycom where he defined, managed, and launched on the worldwide stage the market share leading ViewStation product line ($4B in total sales). In the early 90s Mr. Kayton spent five years at VTEL where he co-invented the world’s first hospital-compliant two-way video telemedicine product which was a market leader and won many accolades in its day. Mr. Kayton began his career as a software programmer, received an MBA and a MA in communication technologies from the University of Texas in Austin, and a BA from the University of Virginia where he was an Echols Scholar.


Samir Khazaka

Fred King

Most recently, Fred served as the VP and GM of Exclaim’s consumer, reseller and related Web service lines of business. He held key relationships with Adobe, Disney, Earthlink and many other companies domestically and internationally. Prior to this role, Fred was the Chairman and CEO of SoftWatch Ltd., an Israel-based healthcare technology firm focused on web communities for the pharmaceutical and life sciences markets. Prior to Softwatch, Fred was VP of Professional Services for iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions (a Netscape & Sun Microsystems joint venture), where he had responsibility for managing and expanding iPlanet’s professional services business throughout the Americas. In this role he was responsible for the overall construction and subsequent operation of more than 200 web presences for Fortune 1000 firms to venture capital-backed startups. Fred holds a BS in Marketing and is a Candidate for an MBA, Accounting, University of Phoenix. A father of two, water sports enthusiast and sometime golfer, Fred and his wife maintain a horse farm in New York State with a small, but growing, stable of horses.


Edwin Lau

Group Product Director, TV Business, Microsoft Corp.

Edwin Lau is responsible for product management and planning for Microsoft Mediaroom, the award-winning Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and multimedia software platform. Edwin joined Microsoft in 2007 and has led various initiatives related to new business opportunities, evaluating business risk, pricing and business models, among other areas.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Edwin was Director, Products and Services at TELUS Communications in Canada where he was responsible for their consumer wire line portfolio including the development of their consumer Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) offering. He was also a strategy consultant with Arthur D. Little and Mercer Management Consulting in Singapore, Hong Kong and Canada where he worked on strategic challenges facing the Global 1000 telecommunications, high-tech, media and aviation companies.

John LeMoncheck

Co-Founder, WirelessHD; President & CEO, SiBEAM, Inc.

 

A seasoned electronics executive, LeMoncheck hails from Silicon Image where he was Vice President of the company's Consumer Electronics and PC/Display business. In that role, LeMoncheck was responsible for all product, market and business strategy development and execution and led the company's efforts to promote worldwide adoption of HDMI. Prior to Silicon Image, LeMoncheck was vice president of software and systems engineering for TeraLogic (purchased by Zoran), directing all platform and software implementations for TeraLogic's digital television solutions. He also ran the customer support and professional service organizations, including the development of key design wins at a number of top-tier consumer electronics manufacturers. Prior to joining TeraLogic, LeMoncheck was a member of the founding team at Arithmos, Inc (purchased by ST Microelectronics) where he was vice president of engineering and developed Arithmos' line of display processors targeted at the flat panel market. In the past, LeMoncheck also directed The LEGO Company's West Coast design center, which was focused on high-tech toys, including the successful MINDSTORMS product line.

LeMoncheck attended U.C. San Diego and spent several years researching VLSI for imaging and pattern recognition applications during his graduate studies at Caltech.


Lou Lenzi

SVP, AudioVox

Lou Lenzi is Senior Vice President of Product Management for Audiovox Accessories Corporation, a leading provider of accessory product solutions marketed under the Acoustic Research, RCA, Jensen and Terk brand names. Lou oversees the definition, design, development, and manufacturing of the company’s seven product lines, representing over 2000 active SKU’s.

Lou has nearly 20 years of experience in consumer electronics including 18 years with Thomson/RCA where he held numerous senior management positions in product design and development, product management, business development, and strategic planning. Under his leadership, Thomson received an award for Corporate Design Excellence from ID magazine in 1995, one of only a handful of corporations ever to be so honored, and a Design of the Decade Award from the IDSA and BusinessWeek magazine for the RCA digital satellite television system.

Lou came to Thomson from IBM where he held a variety of design and design management positions. Prior to joining Audiovox in March 2007, Lou was General Manager of Global Design with GE Healthcare, a $17B division of GE, where he headed Product Usability and Design for all GE Healthcare product lines globally.

He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.


Ellis Lindsay

Ellis Lindsay serves as Director, Strategy, Americas for Alcatel Lucent activity in the area of connected home technology, serving as the primary liaison to the consumer electronics and home control vendor communities.

Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. Lindsay worked for Bell Canada as Associate Director of Consumer Services Development. He also worked at Ubiquity Software, an SIP infrastructure company, where he was Director of Strategic Alliances, and held product management roles at Corel Corporation and Cognos.

Amy Lipton

Amy Lipton, Director of Global Marketing for IBM’s Digital Media and Media & Entertainment industries, has served with IBM for more than 20 years, helping customers harness the latest emerging technologies, and turning them into competitive business advantages. Brian Mahony

Tara Maitra

General Manager and Vice President, Content Services, TiVo, Inc.

Tara Maitra serves as Vice President, General Manager of Content Services for TiVo. In this role, Maitra is responsible for cultivating relationships with content companies and unique content offerings for delivery via broadband.

Previously, Maitra served as Senior Director of content development at Comcast, where she was responsible for day-to-day operations of Select on Demand, a collection of new niche non-linear networks delivered via video on-demand and broadband. Maitra helped to create new channels through partnerships, acquisitions and original programming.

Prior to Comcast, Maitra was Executive Vice President, General Manager of Primedia Digital Video, where she developed on-demand and broadband video businesses for Primedia’s established print franchises. Her accomplishments include launching video services on Comcast and Real Networks.

Ms. Maitra also held a series of editorial and management positions at NBC, including Vice President, General Manager of CNBC/Dow Jones Business Video, a joint venture of NBC, Microsoft and Dow Jones. There she led the development and managed one of the first profitable streaming video web sites to offer financial content thru both subscription and syndication models.

A graduate of Washington and Lee University, located in Lexington, Virginia, Ms. Maitra holds a B.A. in Journalism and Psychology.


Joy Marcus

General Manager, US, Dailymotion

Joy Marcus joined Dailymotion in early 2007. In her role as US general manager, she is responsible for spearheading the Company’s growth and development in the region.

Ms. Marcus has an extensive background in media and entertainment. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of Time Warner Global Marketing, where she was responsible for developing partnerships with marketers for integration with Time Warner media and entertainment properties including AOL, Turner television networks, Time Inc. magazines, Warner Bros. television and film, New Line Cinema and HBO. Prior to her role at Time Warner, she was head of business development for Barnes&Noble.com. Ms. Marcus was a key member of the senior management team at the time of the Company’s IPO. Her functions included oversight of online distribution and affiliate marketing programs, responsibility for product launches and strategies, and P&L responsibility for approximately 25% of the business. Prior to that, she served as vice president of business development for MTV International, where she negotiated arrangements for new channel launches in Asia, South Africa and Russia and contributed to the restructuring of operations in Brazil.

Ms. Marcus attended Princeton University and New York University School of Law where she focused on Intellectual Property law. She began her career as an M&A lawyer, practicing at international firm Debevoise & Plimpton. She also served as in-house counsel at MTV networks. Focusing on content development, she negotiated the first record label deals for MTV as well as numerous agreements for original series including The Real World.


Keith McCurdy

Eric Miller

Eric Miller has 25 years experience in energy software development and sales, wholesale energy trading, retail electricity marketing, energy project development and finance, and public advocacy. He is currently Executive in Residence with Mohr Davidow Ventures, where he is investigating and developing new clean tech opportunities.

Prior to joining Mohr Davidow, Mr. Miller was Vice President of Global Software Solutions for Itron, and was responsible for all aspects of Itron’s $70 million software business unit. Itron software provides meter reading systems, meter data management, energy analysis and distribution system design tools to electric, gas, and water utilities world-wide, as well as advanced enterprise energy management software to large energy consumers. The software group includes 6 business units covering 3 continents, with over 250 people and an annual R&D budget exceeding $25 million/year.

Prior to its acquisition by Itron, Mr. Miller was Vice President of Product Strategy at Silicon Energy. Silicon Energy became the leading provider of energy management software for large energy users, as well as load curtailment software and customer energy data presentment tools to utilities.

Prior to joining Silicon Energy, Mr. Miller was co-founder, President and CEO of Foresight Energy Company. Foresight pioneered many of the green energy trading and certification structures that guide the green power industry to this day.

Prior to founding Foresight, Mr. Miller developed over $450 million in renewable and conventional energy projects including cogeneration, wind energy, and landfill methane projects while at Kenetech Windpower and the AES Corp.

Mr. Miller is Secretary-Treasurer of the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies, and board member of Foresight Energy Company. Steve Mitgang

Tom Morgan

Henry Muyshondt

Henry Muyshondt is Senior Director at SMSC Corporation where he is responsible for business development for SMSC's Automotive Infotainment Systems group. Patricia Nakache

Patricia Nakache is a General Partner at Trinity Ventures, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm founded in 1986 and focused on building leading-edge information technology companies.

Patricia focuses on funding companies launching innovative business and consumer services. She is particularly interested in Internet-based marketing and information services, alternative advertising solutions, and software delivered as a service. She represents Trinity Ventures as a director on the boards of Care.com, i4cp, Jobster, and PayScale, and has previously been active on the boards of Affinity Labs (acquired by Monster), LoopNet (LOOP) and MyNewPlace. Hung Nguyen

Cynthia Pacheco

Frank Paniagua, Jr.

Frank has spent his entire career involved in start-ups. Frank was the co-founder of the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and was Vice President of Worldwide OEM Sales at RasterOps and VideoLogic (both companies executed successful IPO's), founder of KidWise LearningWare, co-founder of Eskape Labs and AutoNetworks and the president of IXMICRO. (EskapeLabs, IXMICRO and AutoNetworks were acquired.) Frank has a history of success including 23+ years of "solution selling" into the industry's most respected PC and consumer electronic manufacturers (Apple, Compaq, Digital Equipment, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Sun and Sony). Frank's expertise is building and growing new ventures into successful companies. Frank's last tenure was as a partner for Trusted Strategies, an IT Security consulting firm. Buno Pati

Dr. Pati is a co-founder and chief executive officer of Sezmi Corporation (formerly Building B, Inc.). Dr. Pati is an experienced and successful entrepreneur who has an established track record of building early-stage companies into successful businesses. Prior to co-founding Building-B, Dr. Pati was an angel investor and board member and on occasion, interim chief executive officer of early-stage venture-funded technology companies in a range of markets from semiconductors to video compression and multimedia services.

Dr. Pati founded Numerical Technologies and served as its president and chief executive officer. He led Numerical from the initial development phases, through its successful initial public offering to its acquisition by Synopsys. Before co-founding Numerical, Dr. Pati served as assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science at Harvard University and a post-doctoral research associate at Stanford University.

Dr. Pati serves on the Board of Directors and is an early investor in several venture-funded technology companies including Xoomsys, Innovative Silicon, Pulsic, and Fliptrack.

Dr. Pati also serves on the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland College of Engineering, the President’s West Coast Advisory Council, and is a co-chair of the University of Maryland’s Scholarship Endowment Fund campaign. He serves on the IT Advisory Board of Index Ventures and the Advisory Board of Nexus India Capital.

Petr Peterka

Petr Peterka is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in the Advanced Technology department of Motorola, Home & Networks Mobility, and a Motorola’s Science Advisory Board Associate.

In his 19 years at Motorola and previously with General Instrument, Petr has worked on satellite and cable television related head-end and uplink software systems. He has played a lead software architect role in the development of satellite authorization and access control system for conditional access television. Petr worked as the vice-chair of ATSC T3-S17 group in the role of a Java system architect defining the DTV Application Software Environment (DASE) for Interactive TV applications.

Over the past 8 years, Petr has led a team working on Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Content Management and applying these to multimedia streaming over IP networks and content sharing within home networks. He also represents Motorola at several DRM-related standards.

Petr has actively participated in several standards organizations including SCTE, ATSC, DVB, SMPTE, ATIS, TVA, CEA, DLNA, OMA, Coral, and others. He received a MSEE degree from Czech Technical University in Prague in 1987 and a MSCS degree from University of California in San Diego in 1992.


Michael Peveler

VP, Corporate Development, AMX

Michael Peveler is the vice president of corporate development at AMX, where he is responsible for product marketing, as well as the company’s worldwide training organization and manufacturer partner program.

Mr. Peveler joined AMX in 1999 as a member of AMX University and was promoted to director in 2001. Under his direction, AMX University has expanded into a global team with locations around the world and trainings offered online and in person in multiple languages.

In 2004, Mr. Peveler was given then additional responsibility of building the AMX InConcert Partner program, as well as the company’s Integrated Technology Group (ITG). Under his leadership, the program has grown to include more than 200 third-party manufacturers who are all committed to device interoperability.

Mr. Peveler was promoted to his current role in 2007 and now also oversees the AMX product marketing team.

Adam Powers

Adam Powers is Principal Engineer and Architect for Macrovision's Embedded Solutions Business Unit. He is primarily responsible for Macrovision's Connected Platform, a middleware solution for consumer electronics and customer premise equipment that provides DLNA, UPnP, DRM and Internet Services functionalities to a wide range of embedded devices. Adam is also involved in monitoring and contributing to a variety of standards bodies, ranging from DLNA to DTCP to CableLabs.

Prior to his position at Macrovision, Adam was Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of the IPTV home-networking company Coaxsys, and he has been involved in various aspects of home networking for service providers and consumer electronics markets for ten years.


Sterling Pratz

With Autonet Mobile, Sterling Pratz has combined two of his passions: cars and technology. As a former professional race car driver he is intimately familiar with cars and the automotive market. His background provides unparalleled technical familiarity with cars, as well as relationships with some of the top car manufacturers, companies and driving clubs in the world.

Pratz also held executive level positions with Xerox, INW and Computer Associates. Len has extensive technical and operational background in the semiconductor and communications industries, and focuses his investments in communications and components companies. He serves on the Boards of Directors for Aspen Avionics, H-Stream Wireless, and PowerGenix.

He also helped lead the reorganization of Level 3 Communications sales force in 2001 as a Senior Vice President of Sales.

Ron started his career in New York City as a sales trainee for the IBM Corporation. In his 18 years with IBM he held a number of sales and sales management positions including Client Executive on NYNEX; Administrative Assistant to the IBM General Manager of General and Public sector; Direct Marketing Executive for Global Telecommunications and Media industries, ultimately taking over the position as North American Executive responsible for Wireless Service Providers, CLECs and ISPs.

Anthony Rodio

Tushar Saxena

Tushar Saxena is the Director of Home Networking Technologies at Verizon Communications, where he is responsible for developing and executing the next generation digital home strategy for broadband services including FiOS, DSL and Broadband VAS. His group also represents Verizon on industry and standards forums such as the MoCA Alliance, DSL Forum, DLNA and ATIS. Tushar was also the chief architect of VoiceWing, Verizon's consumer VoIP service launched in 2004. Prior to Verizon, Tushar held key positions at GE Global Research and BBN Technologies where he was responsible for the development of a number of key innovative government and military solutions using emerging IP networking technologies.

Tushar holds a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the State University of New York, Albany and an MBA from the Wharton School.


George Schweitzer

George F. Schweitzer was named President of the CBS Marketing Group in December 2004. In this role, Schweitzer is responsible for the marketing activities of CBS in addition to collaborating on marketing activities of other CBS divisions including King World, CBS Paramount Television, CBS Radio, CBS Outdoor and Showtime. Schweitzer reports directly to Leslie Moonves, CBS President and CEO. He was previously Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications, CBS.

The CBS Marketing Group, a full-service marketing, advertising and media organization responsible for the strategic, creative and media aspects of all advertising, promotion and marketing for CBS is also responsible for Sales Promotion, Affiliate Promotion, Network Creative Services and all Special Events, including affiliate meetings and upfront presentations, as well as consumer marketing and creating and executing advertiser-based promotional partnerships which help enhance revenues and ratings.

In his role as the chief marketing executive for CBS, Schweitzer has introduced new concepts and techniques to network television marketing. He has directed CBS marketing projects and partnerships such as the pioneering CBS fall premiere promotions, which won a Super Reggie Award as top promotion of the year from the Promotion Marketing Association and a Spire Award from the American Marketing Association. In 2001, CBS became the first network to win a second Super Reggie, awarded for the Network's SURVIVOR campaign.

Schweitzer was honored with the PROMAX Brand Builder Award and the PROMAX Pinnacle Award for his leadership in television marketing and promotion. He was named Entertainment Marketer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly and EPM Communications, named a Marketer of the Year by Brandweek magazine and twice named to the Advertising Age Marketing 100. In addition, he was honored with Entertainment Weekly's first Marketing Executive of the Year Award.

Schweitzer first joined CBS in 1972 and held several positions in radio and television production, including production supervisor of many CBS Television Network, CBS News and CBS Sports broadcasts. In 1978, when he was a producer of "Captain Kangaroo," he also organized the CBS Workshops on Children's Television.

In 1979, he was promoted to Director, Communications, CBS/Broadcast Group. He was named Vice President, Communications and Operations, CBS Sports, in 1980. In 1982, he was appointed Vice President, Communications and Information, CBS/Broadcast Group, responsible for publicity and media relations. He held that post until joining Young & Rubicam in 1987, as vice president and director of corporate relations, and becoming involved in various aspects of the agency's advertising, marketing and public relations.

Schweitzer returned to CBS in August 1988 as Senior Vice President, Communications, responsible for all advertising, promotion and publicity, and corporate public relations. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, in October 1991 and to Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications, in April 1994.

Schweitzer is a graduate of Boston University (bachelor of science, broadcasting and film), where he serves on the College of Communications Dean’s Executive Committee.


Neerav Shah

Dan Simpkins

DORIAN SIMPSON

Singu Srinivas

Reuben Steiger

Bryan Watts, Business Development Manager for DSC, brings 24 years experience in the residential intrusion and alarm monitoring business, from both a manufacturer and distributor’s perspective. Bryan has represented top brands such as ADEMCO, Silent Knight, ADI, Tri-Ed and currently DSC, Bryan has filled a variety of roles ranging from Sales and Marketing Management and Operations to Product and Channel Management. Currently Bryan is filling a strategic roll for DSC mapping the organizations new business development strategies and technology relationships as they relate to the new connected home ecosystem. Providing technology solutions for major service providers and retailers to approach the emerging home monitoring market.


Lior Weiss

VP, Marketing, Celeno Communications

Lior is responsible for marketing, product and business development at Celeno Communications. Celeno is the first company to develop and demonstrate a solution capable of distributing multiple HD video streams with full home coverage based on the ubiquitous, standard WiFi home networking technology. Celeno’s innovative WiFi silicon components power home-networking equipment that enables a full home distribution of carrier-grade HD video streams with no new wires installed.

Lior has held multiple senior positions at AudioCodes (NASDAQ: AUDC) and Seabridge (a Siemens-Nokia company), including roles in business development, product marketing and product management. He most recently served as VP Marketing, Media Gateways for AudioCodes. While there Lior had the overall responsibility for Audiocodes Carrier-grade Media gateways product line in North America. In addition Lior developed, negotiated and oversaw business relationships with strategic OEM partners such as Avaya and Microsoft. Mr. Weiss received his B.Sc. EE and MBA degrees from Tel Aviv University.


Will West

Will West is chief executive officer of Control4. Since co-founding the company in March of 2003, he has led the Company's efforts to create a revolutionary new line of affordable home automation solutions.

Will has raised more than $300 million in private capital to start his last three companies. In 1998, he co-founded STSN (now iBAHN), the worldwide leader in broadband services for business travelers serving millions of customer in thousands of hotels. Prior to founding STSN, Will was CEO, and co-founder of PHAST Corporation. Under his leadership, PHAST became the leading manufacturer of high-end home automation equipment.

Will's other professional experience includes Proctor & Gamble, the FSLIC, and Wasatch Advisors. He holds a degree in Finance from the University of Utah, and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the CFA designation.

Will serves as chairman of the board of the Utah Capital Investment Corporation (the State of Utah's "Fund of Funds"). He also served as chairman of the board for Utah Technology Council (UTC). Will is currently on Utah Business Magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the state, and on Connect Magazine's Top 25. He was named Utah Valley Entrepreneur of the year in 2004 and in 2006 he was named the Ernst & Young Master Entrepreneur Of The Year® in the region. Stephen White

VP, Product and Content Management, Gracenote

Stephen White joined Gracenote in 2001 and brings 13 years of demonstrated experience leading teams in the creation, development, and sales of innovative technologies and products. White manages the company’s product and content management teams in the execution of the company’s strategic product vision.

Prior to his current role White lead sales teams at Gracenote working with leading media software and services provider customers such as Apple, Yahoo, Real Networks, Napster, and America Online.

Prior to joining Gracenote, White was the VP of development for streaming music start-up Echo.com which was one of the first companies to combine group content streaming and community features such as instant messaging and chat rooms into a streaming audio client.

White holds a BA in Afro-American Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.


Rusty Williams

Rusty has over 20 years experience with interactive services. He started his career with Delphi Internet and was General Manager through 1993 when Delphi was acquired by News Corporation. He served as Vice President of New Internet Ventures for Individual, Inc., a publicly traded provider of personalized business news (now a division of Thomson Financial). Rusty is co-founder of Prospero Technologies, a leading provider of private-branded social media applications for over 60 clients including Fox, CBS, ESPN, iVillage, About.com, and Monster.com. Prospero was recently acquired by Mzinga, Inc. and Rusty now oversees Mzinga’s roadmap for both e-learning and social media applications. He holds a degree in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.


Michael Wilson

CEO, Makena Technologies

Working in the fields of Online Community and eCommerce for over 30 years, Michael Wilson has long been bringing exciting new technologies to consumers. In 2001, Wilson came out of “retirement” to join There.com as an investor, and currently serves as CEO with the goal of making There.com the premiere 3D Virtual World for consumers.

In 1997, Wilson was one of eBay’s first employees, where he was responsible for building the organization and technology for the world's largest and most successful eCommerce site. The architecture, processes and organizations he established during eBay's startup days in 1997 carried eBay through its IPO and beyond.

Wilson began his career at Macy's California, where he developed point of sale and electronic credit card authorization systems, later becoming the youngest senior executive in the company's history. He later joined Chevron, providing management and software support for Chevron's 10,000+ member online user community.

After Chevron, Wilson was an early employee and key developer of the Mainframe and Macintosh product at Oracle Corporation. After several years, he moved on to Neuron Data, where he worked on bringing artificial intelligence together with modern relational and object-oriented database technology. Excited by the emergence of portable computing, he later worked for eShop (acquired by Microsoft in 1996), as the Chief Architect and Project Manager and helped create the world's first online shopping platform.

Wilson has also held key positions at daVinci Time and Space, developing ITV-based community, and at The Well, leading the development of its web-based community product, Well Engaged.


Simon Wynn

VP, Products, Devicescape Software

As vice president of products, Simon Wynn brings over eighteen years of industry experience building and leading successful development organizations. Most recently he served as vice president of engineering at Centrata. Prior to Centrata, Simon spent six years at Marimba in a variety of positions, most recently as vice president of engineering and customer support. At Marimba he was responsible for all aspects of the company's engineering operations, including financial planning, staffing and product development processes, including the successful acquisition of Marimba by BMC Software. Prior to Marimba, he worked in the new media, groupware and application server divisions at Oracle Corporation, and prior to Oracle at Dolby Laboratories Inc.

Simon received a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of North London.


Marc Yi

Director, Intel Capital

 

Marc Yi is a Director of Intel Capital. He focuses on digital media, internet services and consumer technologies on a global basis and supports Intel’s consumer desktop PC business. He is currently board observer for Bell Rock Media, Gotcha Media, ManiaTV and Zensys. Prior to joining Intel Capital, Marc was an Associate at the International Finance Corporation (IFC)/the World Bank. In addition, Marc worked at AT&T’s global strategy & alliance team and Deutsche Bank. Marc studied at ICADE in Spain and holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania.


Russell Zack

VP, Product Management, Anystream

 

Russell Zack is responsible for the strategic direction and definition of Anystream media-related products. Zack was the COO of Cauldron Solutions where he was responsible for the overall management of the company. Before co-founding Cauldron, he built several technology companies focused on large vertical industries such as automotive, media and entertainment and telecommunications. Previous industry-related experience includes his time spent as president and CEO of DragonFly Mobile Inc, a mobile data optimization and application company he founded in 2000. Russell also co-founded the interactive media company, Sigma6, in 1994. He holds a BA/BS degree in Digital Multi-Media from the University of Michigan.


Scot Zarkiewicz

CEO, SingleClick Systems

 

Mr. Zarkiewicz has been successful in bringing successful technology startups to market. His first technology venture, CSG was acquired in 1998 by Cabletron Systems, a public company. Zarkiewicz left Cabletron Systems in 1999 to found 3NO Systems which later changed its name to Issanni Communications. Issanni Communications designed and built Subscriber Management System (SMS) products. During this time Mr. Zarkiewicz was instrumental in developing several innovative pieces of technology that dramatically simplified the creation of Broadband Services. Zarkiewicz served as the companies CTO and Founder until it was acquired by UT Starcom, a public company, in 2002. Mr. Zarkiewicz served as the Director of Engineering during his tenure at UT Starcom. During this time period Zarkiewicz successfully integrated the Issanni product line into the UT Starcom product family, cross pollinating the Issanni technology into the UT Starcom DSLAM product line. Mr. Zarkiewicz left UT Starcom in 2003 to start SingleClick Systems. Zarkiewicz’s experience in DSLAM and SMS products led him to the realization that there was a need for a sophisticated network diagnosis and repair tool for subscriber’s PCs’. With its first two products, Wireless Network Ignition and HomeNet Manager, SingleClick Systems has created a robust toolset that dramatically simplifies the creation and maintenance of home and small office networks. Building on the success of its first two products SingleClick has developed additional applications in the Wireless Security, Data Backup, and Remote Access product spaces. Mr. Zarkiewicz is currently serving as the CEO and Founder of SingleClick Systems Inc.

John Gildred

John Gildred is the President of SyncTV and Senior Vice President of Development and Technology at Pioneer Electronics. Prior to his work on SyncTV, John has led Pioneer’s US division for product development and advanced research, which included Blu-Ray player product development, plasma TV product development, US digital TV standards, home AV networking standards, and the establishment of a common software framework for Pioneer.

John served as the Pioneer representative to DLNA, CE Linux Forum, IEE 802 and the Ethernet Alliance. Before working at Pioneer, John has held senior executive positions for various early stage ventures in consumer home entertainment, Internet communications and digital rights management. John also founded Indrema Entertainment Systems, maker of the first Linux-based game console, targeted at the fast-growing market of independent game developers. John Gildred has also served as technology advisor to various Fortune 500 companies and several major media and financial institutions including Sony Music Entertainment, Bertelsmann, Dow Jones, and the New York Stock Exchange.


Robert Rodenbucher

Director, Business Development, AwoX

Robert Rodenbucher is appointed Director of Business Development at AwoX, the European leader in middleware technologies for the aggregation of digital entertainment contents on a home network.

Starting in the early 80’s as lab engineer at Wandel & Goldtermann France then at Thomson Simulators, he pursued, for more than 6 years, its career in robotics as team leader for the digital control command at Renault Automation. After he abandoned the technical world and moved into marketing functions being TV-Europe Product Manager and Business Manager for Eastern Europe & Russia, then World Wide Manager for Components for Optical Recording at Thomson.

Robert Rodenbucher is a graduate engineer in electronics from ISEP (Institut Supérieur d’Electronique de Paris) and followed a course of marketing for high-tech products at ESCL (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Lyon).


Rick Schwartz

Product Manager, Consumer Software, PacketVideo (PV)

Rick Schwartz is the product manager for PacketVideo's (PV) DLNA media manager software for consumers. Prior to joining PV in later 2008, Rick logged a rich history in the innovative delivery of digital media. Six years before Apple sold their first song online, Rick was product manager of a team at Liquid Audio that created the first secure online music distribution system with content from several major labels. Following his tenure at Liquid Audio, Rich joined Gateway where he was in charge of product marketing for Desktop PCs and launched hundreds of unique products and services including Media Center PCs, the Gateway/Napster Music Service, Gateway MP3 Jukebox, Gateway Rhapsody Music Service and Gateway Music Vault – an industry-first program that preloaded thousands of songs on millions of PCs. Rick works from PV's headquarters in San Diego.
