David has over twenty-five years of international experience in strategic planning, retail development, and product marketing, having lived and worked in London, Paris, Beijing, and San Francisco. From 2003 to 2011, David was responsible for the worldwide development of Apple’s retail programs, turning niche opportunities into a multi-billion dollar business with over 3,000 stores across 80 countries. From 1995 to 2002, he was responsible for the worldwide development of Gap Inc.’s partner business for the Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy brands. David holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School.

Through the Works with Nest developer program, Nest and partners can build connections that anticipate people’s needs to make their lives easier.

Prior to Nest, Francois held senior product, marketing and business development roles at several major European tech players, as well as being an advisor to technology start-ups, and a judge and mentor in various globally-recognised innovation accelerators and competitions.

François holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Supelec, and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management (Sloan Fellows).

Marco Dorjee Marco Dorjee, International Business Development, Centralite Systems

Marco Dorjee is the General Manager International Sales & Business Development at Centralite Systems, a leading manufacturer of wireless connected devices and IoT solutions products including the award winning IoT Framework Jilia.
 
Marco has the responsibility for developing and deploying the Centralite International growth strategy. Through the course of the last years he has successfully executed on this master plan by establishing Centralite product embedding in a large number of leading platforms. Furthermore Centralite has been selected a primary partner in several field trials which shortly will be converted into public offerings.
 
Marco brings over 25 years’ experience in senior positions from high-tech and imaging industries. Before joining Centralite, Marco was the Managing Director (Media) Business Operations EMEA for Intermec (a Honeywell Company), supplying Data collection and Printing solutions to 75% of the Fortune 500 companies. Furthermore he was member of the EMEA Leadership and Global (Media) Operations Management Team. Prior Intermec Marco held various senior positions including Strategic Vendor Management, Director of Operations and other functions at Konica Minolta and QMS. Marco has a solid technical background and holds an Executive MBA.


Ronald Egas Ronald Egas, CEO, Werkspot

Egas combines his technological knowledge with his experience in online businesses and this leads to great successes. At Tweakers, the largest website in the Netherlands with news and reviews about technology and electronics, the turnover of the online brand grew more than 300 percent because of his effort.

Due to his experience as a consultant, he understands the strengths and weaknesses of an enterprise. And he notices oppurtunities in the market. At Werkspot.nl, the amount of service requests grew by 50% since 2014. Werkspot has a mission to become the catagory killer in The Netherlands. On Uber.com you look for a cab, on Booking.com you look for a hotel and on Werkspot.nl you look for a service professional.

Egas also initiated the rollout of Werkspot in Italy under the brand name Instapro. His goal is to grow the Instapro brand massively in Italy and other European countries.


Kevin Garton Kevin Garton, CMO, Zonoff

Kevin has nearly three decades of marketing expertise with some of the world’s most recognized brands. Prior to joining Zonoff, Kevin was the Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer for Context Asset Management, where he led the company from concept to business launch, as well as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer for Neat, a Philadelphia-based marketing company. During his extensive career Kevin has led marketing and sales teams at AOL.com, Score, MicroStrategy, Levi Strauss, Corning and Procter & Gamble. Kevin has an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.


Reed Grothe Reed Grothe, SVP of Global Business Development, Alarm.com

Reed Grothe has served as Alarm.com's Senior Vice President of Business Development since April 2010. Prior to joining us, Mr. Grothe served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the pro audio division of Harman International Industries, Incorporated from 2006 to 2010 and as the Chief Global Sales Officer of Gibson Guitar Corp. from 2004 to 2006. Prior to joining Gibson, Mr. Grothe served as Senior Vice President and General Manager as well as Vice President of Global Sales at GE Security, now under the umbrella of United Technologies Corporation. Ashley Hathaway Ashley Hathaway, Senior Developer Evangelist, IBM Watson

Ashley is a Senior Dev Evangelist for IBM Watson based in Austin, Texas. She is a former Product Manager for the IBM Watson Developer Cloud and focused on their API offerings. She is interested in machine learning, AI, natural language processing and other awesome technologies. Ashley’s previous experience as a front-end dev and UX designer continue to influence her decision-making today.


Pierre Hunter Pierre Hunter, VP Sales Europe, Verimatrix

Pierre Hunter, VP of Sales, EMEA at Verimatrix, is a seasoned professional with 25 years of international business experience in the telecommunications and pay-TV industries. Most recently, he was Director of Business Development at Irdeto where he developed and implemented the company’s global IPTV commercial strategy. Prior to Irdeto, Hunter was instrumental in the successful deployment of Amino Communication’s set-top box solutions in the EMEA market. His additional in senior executive positions include founder and director of a Netherlands-based pay-media consultancy, and general manager at Mindport Europe, a global solutions provider of media commerce technologies for pay-TV and the Internet. Hunter received his Bachelor of Commerce and MBA degree from University of Pretoria in South Africa. He is fluent in Dutch and Afrikaans.


Cees Links Cees Links, General Manager Low Power Wireless, Qorvo

Cees Links is a pioneer of the wireless data industry, a visionary leader bringing the world of mobile computing and continuous networking together. Under his responsibility, the first wireless LANs were developed which ultimately became house-hold technology integrated into the PCs and notebooks we are all familiar with. He also pioneered the development of access points, home networking routers and hotspot base stations, all widely used today. In late 2004 Cees started with GreenPeak Technologies. GreenPeak is a fabless semiconductor company with a strong focus on wireless for ultra-low power sense and control networks for remote controls for consumer electronics like TVs and set-top boxes and applications like security and home automation. Cees’ vision is to “build a smarter world” by developing a communications platform between devices sensing and enabling us to control our lives.

Cees started his career at NCR Computers where he was responsible for the development and launch of the world’s first wireless LAN product in 1990, a major innovation at that time. Throughout several acquisitions and divestitures (NCT, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems), Cees continued his work in the wireless LAN area, which he turned into a multi-hundreds million dollar business for Agere Systems. He directly closed a deal with Apple Computer in 1999 that ignited the growth of the wireless LAN industry. Though this deal, wireless LANs went on to become a standard notebook feature. Cees was involved in the establishment of the IEEE 802.11 standardization committee and the Wi-Fi Alliance. He was also instrumental in helping to establish the IEEE 802.15 standardization committee to become the basis for the ZigBee sense and control networking technology and standardization. Currently, Mr. Links is Marketing Chair for RF4CE in the ZigBee Alliance.

Cees Links holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Twente University of Technology in Enschede, The Netherlands.


Joe Liu Joe Liu, CEO, MivaTek / Home8

Joe Liu currently leads strategy and operations at MivaTek, a smart home and healthcare service company. MivaTek changes the way people protect their loved ones, property, and possessions with solutions that integrate connected devices, cloud backup, and complete control from a single mobile app. The name MivaTek, shorthand for “Mobile Interactive Video Assurance Technology,” alludes to the mobile-enabled, video-integrated focus at the heart of MivaTek’s core product offerings.

Despite MivaTek’s status as a Silicon Valley startup, MivaTek products and solutions are the product of five years of R&D.

Prior to launching MivaTek in 2015, Liu co-founded and led California-based Oplink Communications, Inc., an optical network company. When Koch Industries/Molex acquired Oplink Communications in 2014, Liu led a team of investors and purchased the Oplink Connected portfolio back from Koch/Molex and used this technology to power MivaTek solutions.

Liu’s background includes engineering and serial entrepreneurship. After earning his Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at California State University, Chico, he worked for companies including Mostek Semiconductor, Motorola Semiconductor, and National Semi.


Kevin Meagher Kevin Meagher, SVP Business Development, ROC-Connect

Kevin Meagher is the SVP Business Development for ROC Connect, a technology company offering an enterprise grade cloud platform to support the IoT and the deployment of smart home products and services.

Meagher is the former VP and General Manager of Lowe’s Smart Home initiative. He led Lowe’s IoT program, including the development of deployment of connected products and services through stores. Kevin founded Intamac Systems, a UK company offering a Cloud platform delivering smart home solutions to the mass consumer market through telecommunications companies and utilities.

Meagher has been recognized as a global pioneer and thought leader in the smart home and IoT. He has lectured on business management and published papers at national and international conferences. Additionally, he is the recipient of numerous awards including Ruban d’Honneur as European Entrepreneur of the Year, and his company won the European Best Business Innovation Award. He has 3 patents. He has also served as a Group Captain in the Royal Air Force.

Meagher is a Chartered Engineer in Aeronautics and holds an MBA from the Open University.  


Mario Moura Mario Moura, Vice President and General Manager, Honeywell

Mario Moura is the General Manager for the Honeywell Home Comfort & Energy Systems business in EMEA. This business designs, manufactures and sells connected heating, cooling and ventilation controls, as well as, energy management solutions for residential applications. He has been in this role since January 2015 and prior to that he was the Director of Marketing for Honeywell Life Safety business.

Mario has 15 years of experience in B2B and B2C environments gathered in key international leadership positions in Marketing, Sales and Engineerinig mainly in the Automotive and Aerospace sectors. Prior to Honeywell, Mario has worked for multinational companies like Volkswagen, Embraer, Rio Tinto Alcan and has been working and living in Brazil, Germany, Thailand, China and Switzerland where he has been living for the last eight years. Mario holds an MBA degree from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos (UFSCar) in Brazil.


Aditya Pendyala Aditya Pendyala, Co-founder & Head of Growth, mnubo

Adi is a co-founder and Head of Growth at mnubo. He has broad experience in business and technical roles ranging from large corporations to innovative start-ups, and previously held roles in solution integration, product marketing and product management. At mnubo, Adi works very closely with IoT customers to understand their value drivers and helps define the platform capabilities to meet those market needs.


Tobin Richardson Tobin Richardson, President & CEO, ZigBee Alliance

Tobin J. M. Richardson serves as President and CEO of the ZigBee Alliance, leading the Alliance’s efforts to develop and promote world-leading open, global IoT standards. In this role, he works closely with the Alliance Board of Directors to set strategy and to advance the adoption of ZigBee standards around the globe.

Tobin has two decades of experience in strategic leadership and marketing for technology firms and organizations. His experience spans large-scale technology implementations, new service and product rollouts, and transformational change in Fortune 500 companies and world-leading organizations. He currently serves in a number of industry leadership roles, including Co-Chair of NAESB's Energy Usage Information standard committee, and participates actively on NEMA's Smart Grid Task Force and the CEA's Smart Grid Working Group. He holds a Master’s degree from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis.? 


Greg Roberts Greg Roberts, Vice President, Marketing, Icontrol Networks

Greg Roberts serves as the vice president of marketing for Icontrol Networks. Roberts started with Icontrol in 2006 and leads all corporate marketing and marketing communications initiatives for the company. Roberts’ career features a celebrated track record of leadership and success in strategic branding and management for a range of tech companies. He has been instrumental in the successful launch of numerous consumer and B2B marketing campaigns. During his time at Icontrol, he has driven notable business results focused on customer acquisition and retention, leading to increased market share and international expansion. Previously, Roberts was vice president of marketing at Helio, a MVNO startup, where he led all marketing initiatives and brand management, and helped expand and broaden the company’s customer portfolio. He also played a critical role in the launch of Helio and Helio Powered By SK Telecom, which received critical acclaim from the industry. Prior to Helio, Roberts was the vice president of marketing for Disney Mobile, an MVNO project by The Walt Disney Company. He also served as the director of national marketing at SBC Wireless. There, he developed and led award-winning marketing initiatives to help launch Cingular Wireless (now AT&T). Roberts was recognized by Wireless World Magazine and Brandweek for the campaign’s pioneering approaches to youth marketing, which have since been adapted as best practices by the mobile industry. Roberts began his career with top brand marketing and design companies including The Richards Group, Tracy Locke, DDB Needham and GSD&M. Curt has spent over 25 years in the Silicon Valley high tech community, having held a number of senior positions in sales, marketing, and business development, including VP of Worldwide Marketing at Wind River (Intel), Executive VP of Field Operations at Real-Time Innovations, and VP of Sales at Arrayent. He co-founded and served as CEO of Embedded Solution Partners, which was named the 20th fastest growing private company in Silicon Valley in 2006. Curt has spoken and served as a panelist at numerous events around the world, offering education and insight into leading edge embedded and communications software topics. He is a strong advocate for advancement of Web- connected products. Curt began his career developing flight software for the NASA Hubble Space Telescope. He graduated with honors from Wright State University with a degree in Computer Science.


Daniel Schellhoss Daniel Schellhoss, Founder, ProSyst, Bosch

Daniel Schellhoss founded ProSyst in 1997 and has been pivotal in driving its progress in the field of embedded Java and OSGi-compliant middleware for the Connected Home. He was instrumental in transforming the company from a promising start-up with innovative technology to a full-fledged market leader with 120 employes and a global roster of clients and partners.

Prior to ProSyst, Daniel Schellhoss founded and acted as Managing Director of a Cologne, Germany-based marketing firm. Daniel Schellhoss holds a degree in Marketing from the WAK Academy in Cologne. 


Christopher Schouten Christopher Schouten, Senior Director Product Marketing, Kudelski Security

Itai Tomer Itai Tomer, Head of Cloud DVR, Ericsson

Itai Tomer is Head of the Cloud DVR Center for Excellence at Ericsson, having previously worked as Vice President, Product at Fabrix Systems, which Ericsson acquired in 2014. Tomer brings to his position more than 16 years’ experience in product management and new products development. Prior to joining Fabrix, Tomer held a position of Director of product management at Cellebrite, leading retail product management and business development. Before Cellebrite, Tomer was Director of Product Management at Amdocs, leading the Amdocs strategy in the Content and New Generation Services markets, and leading the Amdocs internal innovation department and cross portfolio product management. Prior to his role at Amdocs, Tomer was VP of Product Management at Olive Software, where he managed a team of product managers responsible for defining and delivering the company's next generation software. Before that, Tomer was Director Product Management for @View enterprise application. Tomer has an extensive background and expertise in markets spanning telco, information systems, publication, media, advertisement and enterprise applications. Wendy Toth Wendy Toth, Vice President of Marketing, Ayla Networks

Wendy Toth brings more than 26 years of experience to Ayla, where she will focus on strategic marketing, product development and product management. At Echelon, Toth led the drive to create a new market category called the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), revamped the company’s website, delivered several thought leadership campaigns, created a new company logo and established a successful lead-generation program. Before joining Echelon, Toth was a marketing consultant specializing in private/public and hybrid cloud technology business development and marketing for some of Silicon Valley’s leading companies. Her work included developing and launching Cisco’s Public Cloud Adoption software and services portfolio; launching support for VMware’s vCloud Hybrid Service infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering; designing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns for various eBay programs; and developing Jabil’s business plan for a new Cloud Architecture business unit. Earlier in her career, she served as chief marketing officer (CMO) of Global IP Solutions (GIPS), which was acquired by Google; general manager of Web Servicer for Knight Ridder (acquired by McClatchy); senior vice president (SVP) of product marketing at Personify; SVP of marketing strategy and information at Tessera Enterprise Systems; and SVP of database and relationship marketing at NEC. Antti Vihavainen Antti Vihavainen, Partner, Business Development, Cozify

Antti founded his 1st company while he was studying his MSc (econ) in 1995. The company helped Finnish mid-sized companies to internationalize their operations. After graduation he started to work for Sonera, where he learned the importance of timing. His team built a bunch of advanced location based services way too early. At F-Secure Antti was responsible for the Wireless Security Business Unit. The strategy was to focus all activities to close deals with 5 biggest operators. Within 3 years we had signed deals with the biggest operators in the world. Before joining Cozify Antti was the CEO of Anvia Corporate Services Ltd., a 40M€ unit of Anvia Oyj. There he designed and concluded a major organization change to improve the customer experience for the corporate customers.

Ricco B. Winther is the Director of European Sales for Sigma Designs and their Z-Wave technology, the worldwide standard for home control. With over  a decade of experience in wireless technology and Home Area Networks, Mr. Winther is responsible for Z-Wave partnerships and the continuing growth of the Z-Wave interoperable ecosystem (now 900+ products strong) across the European continent.

Mr Winther has also held senior level positions at Booz & Company (formerly Booz, Allen & Hamilton) and at McKinsey & Co . Tom leads Parks Associates research in the areas of home controls, energy management, and home networks. Tom authors numerous reports on energy management and home controls covering the evolution of technology, partnership opportunities, and new business models. Tom’s work at Parks Associates includes managing consumer surveys that track trends and market opportunities and enable insightful evidence-based forecasting for energy, security, and home controls. Tom has done extensive consulting with electric utilities operating in a variety of regulator structures and numerous firms within the smart home ecosystem. Recent utility engagements include defining the home area network roadmap for a California IOU, updating the consumer engagement strategy for a traditional vertically integrated IOU, providing consumer and industry analysis to refine EE and DR programs for an IOU in a restructured market, and providing insights on the evolution of the connected home for a large Midwest IOU. Tom has also led projects for many Fortune 500 companies, helping clients refine smart home strategies, develop scenarios of the future of the smart home market, enhance product roadmaps, and refine specific product features.

Prior to working at Parks Associates, Tom worked as director of engineering and director of product management in multiple industries. Tom began his career in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program on submarines. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in systems engineering and a master's in software engineering from the University of Texas.

Barbara Kraus joined Parks Associates in early 2013 and currently studies the connected consumer electronics field. Barbara’s expertise is delivering and monetizing consumer insights through the provision of compelling product and service technologies and experiences.

Barbara’s background includes more than 10 years with technology service providers in the telecom and home security industries in marketing, strategy and insights, operations, and business development. She also worked for EDS, now HP Enterprise Services, in market intelligence and large-deal sales support. Barbara received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Kansas and MBA from WSU.
