Stefan Jenzowsky, Head of Business Unit Multimedia, Siemens Communications, Media and Technology
Stefan Jenzowsky studied communication science and psychology at the Free University Berlin and the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. After this, he worked in media effects research, entertainment research and advertising effectiveness at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich.
From 1999 to 2006, Stefan was responsible for business innovation at Siemens Communications in Munich. As VP Strategy and Head of Business Innovation he was leading a think tank for new business models in telecommunications. In this think tank, future topics and disruptive innovations were developed for Siemens, with the goal of changing the business models of the telecommunication, internet, media and entertainment industry. In this think tank, innovations like IPTV (e.g. Belgacom TV, Belgium, mineTV, NL) were developed, piloted and introduced to the market.
After this, Stefan became Partner at trommsdorff + drüner innovation + marketing consultants, consulting companies from the media, entertainment and telecommunications industries in developing and introducing innovative new services and products. From 2007 to 2010, Stefan was the managing director of moreTV Broadcasting GmbH in Potsdam-Babelsberg, developing innovative TV centric services like video recorders that know what I want to watch. Since October 2010 Stefan is heading the Media business unit at Siemens Communication, Media and Technology in Vienna, being responsible for the media business worldwide.
Stefan has co-authored various books and publications on the future of media, including the book “Fernsehwerbung - Television Advertising”) and “Die Zukunft des Fernsehens - The Future of Television”. Together with Sven Gabor Jansky, Stefan also wrote “Rulebreakers”, which stormed the German business book charts in 2010. In addition, Stefan is teaching at various universities like the Karlshochschule International University and the European Business School.

Telmo Perez Luaces, VP Strategy, Orange - France Telecom
Telmo Pérez Luaces acts as VP of Business Growth & Strategy of the Home Division at Orange (France Telecom Group) where he leads key subjects around main wireline and convergent telco business as broadband access, fixed-mobile bundles, TV and digital home services. He has developed most of his career at Orange Spain since 2000, developing different departments (strategy and m&a) and business units in relation with telco, online services and advertising until he was a appointed into the current position in 2010 at Orange’s Paris based headquarters. Telmo has also a track-record in acquiring and integrating companies within France Telecom. Previously he worked for two key Spanish internet start-ups in 1999 (Netjuice Networks and eresMas, last one acquired by France Telecom a year later). Telmo holds degrees in Finance and Marketing by the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and a MBA by Escuela de Negocios Caixanova (Spain).

David Noguer Bau is the Service Provider Solutions Marketing Manager for Juniper Networks EMEA. He has extensive experience in Carrier Data Services with special emphasis on next generation Multiplay services and network architectures. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Mr. Noguer Bau spent seven years at Nortel where he was a Business Development Manager specializing in Carrier Ethernet and Broadband areas. Before Nortel he worked at Eicon-Dialogic as Technical Manager in Spain. David is the Country Marketing Chair at Metro Ethernet Forum for Spain.
Mr. Noguer has wide experience speaking at international Conferences. He holds an IT engineering degree from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and has an executive MBA from EADA Barcelona.

Pilgrim Beart, Director and Co-founder, AlertMe
Pilgrim Beart has 20 years experience in ground breaking, high-technology companies and has founded three businesses as well as holding senior roles at a number of other companies. After graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering from City University, London, Pilgrim began his career in Oxford, designing computer boards for Solid State Logic. After six years working in Silicon Valley in the 1990s for companies like Atari and Chromatic Research (now AMD), in 1999 Pilgrim returned to Cambridge UK where in the last 15 years he has founded three companies: activeRF Ltd., antenova Ltd. and then AlertMe Ltd.

Jan Van Bogaert, Chief Engineer, Alcatel-Lucent
Jan Van Bogaert is responsible for Connected Home Solutions within Alcatel-Lucent. Before that, he has been leading innovation in various segments of the company, including broadband access, optical transmission and IP networking. He is also Bell Labs Fellow thanks to his work on the IP transformation of broadband.

Paul Bristow, VP Strategy, Middleware & Consumer Experience, Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB)
Paul is Vice-President of Strategy at ADB, with specific focus on middleware and consumer experience. Paul concentrates on making digital television more enjoyable for consumers, while simultaneously making business easier and more profitable for pay TV operators.
Paul is also ADB Group’s key representative within the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) consortium. He has been pushing forward the MHP and GEM specifications for twelve years.
Previously, Paul was the Chief Technology Officer at Osmosys, where he spent 5 years defining and deploying standards-based software solutions in DVB, tru2way & Blu-ray markets. Prior to this he spent seven years driving technology strategy for Philips, working on interactive digital television, wireless home networking, personal video recording and internet services. He went to Philips from Olivetti Personal Computers where he worked on the Olivetti Envision, the first real consumer PC with Video CD playback.
Paul qualified in Electronics and Telecommunications at the Southampton Institute of Higher Education in the UK.

Richard Bullwinkle, Chief Evangelist, Rovi Corporation
Richard Bullwinkle joined Rovi Corporation in January 2007 after the company acquired Mediabolic, where he had served as vice president of products and chief evangelist. Since that time, Richard has served as chief evangelist responsible for corporate strategy. In his role, Richard helps define the direction of Rovi’s products and technology solutions. He represents the company at numerous industry events to gather market perspectives and understand trends that have an impact on the company’s customers and the end consumer in order to provide recommendations to the senior team. He also works to establish standards and lead the discussions to promote a better consumer experience throughout the CE industry.
Richard has worked on the cutting edge of the digital entertainment movement throughout his career with the consumer experience at the center of his focus.
As vice president of products and chief evangelist at Mediabolic, Richard helped pioneer the connected home strategy of connecting entertainment media devices. As a senior member of Rio Audio's product marketing team, Richard played an instrumental part in the creation of some of the most popular MP3 players in the US. At TiVo, Richard was the company’s chief evangelist and a senior member of TiVo's product marketing team. He helped create and develop the TiVo products and was behind the campaign to make the TiVo product a household name.
Richard graduated from Rollins College in Florida with degrees in English and Music.

Olivier Carmona, Board of Directors Member, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)
Olivier Carmona serves as a representative of the DLNA Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the DLNA Compliance and Test Committee. Carmona is also the Director of Technical Marketing at AwoX. In this role, he is responsible for AwoX’s marketing, technical evangelism, and standardization. He has been with AwoX for more than five years, prior to which he worked in the area of embedded system design and manufacturing. Carmona received his MSc in Electronic Engineering from Centrale Marseille.

Jonathan has been involved with AVIQ since 2007, where he leads the product management, marketing, and business development activities. He brings over 17 years of experience, having previously worked in leadership positions for technology companies such as SmarDTV (Kudelski), BridgeCo, SkyStream Networks, and S3 Inc. His career has spanned Europe and Silicon Valley, where he has created market opportunities from zero, innovated new product lines, and established successful partner relationships. Earlier in his career he worked as a design engineer in the areas of semiconductors, computer graphics and video networking. Jean-Michel Demoulin, Cable, Digital Media & IPTV Strategy - European Markets, Cisco
Jean-Michel Demoulin joined Cisco in 2006 through the acquisition of Scientific-Atlanta where he was Director of Strategic Marketing & Business Development EMEA. He became in charge of the video strategy in Europe for the cable, digital media and IPTV business. His expertise enables him to help Cisco and its customers in the EMEA Service Provider market to anticipate industry challenges and market transitions to capture the business evolution and consumer services innovation.
Prior to joining Cisco, Jean-Michel started his career in the financial services industry with Accenture in Luxembourg and Belgium. In 2000, he joined the B2Build start-up based in Paris, a b2b e-commerce trading platform, as Director of Business Development. In 2001 he was appointed General Manager for Sony Network Services Europe to develop new business strategies based on new distribution platforms. Jean-Michel holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from ULg and a MBA from IAG (UCL).

Antonio Gioia, Project Manager, DTT Content Factory, Mediaset
Antonio currently serves as Project Manager at DTT Content Factory, the team in charge of design and manage interactive applications to be delivered on the Mediaset free and pay digital networks. Specific competences - Human Computer Interaction Experts, Art Directors and Designers, Programmers - are gathered to create and realize interactive concept both related and not related with TV content. The Factory has the production capacity of around 80 interactive application a year. Antonio was born in 1981, he graduated in 2005 in Communication Science and Media Management from the “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” of Milan. He joined Mediaset in 2006 as user interaction specialist, aiming to set the standards for the Mediaset interactive services user experience. In 2008 he was appointed iTv Project Manager: in this role he is involved in managing the new OTT and hybrid (broadcast+broadband) TV services and in defining the company strategy for digital connectivity and interactive services. He’s helping Mediaset Premium in designing a future-proof broadband connected gateway, as an integrate and complete solution for the Italian pay-tv customers. Antonio collaborates with national institutions (DGTVi, AGCOM) at defining the commercial requirements of the horizontal, interoperable and interactive Italian DTT platform. He also represents Mediaset interests in the DVB trade association including MHP, IP services and regulatory affairs, with relevant trade association and lobbying work as well.

Benoit Joly, Senior VP - Operational Marketing, Technicolor
Benoit Joly, as VP of Technicolor’s Operational Marketing Group, is building on over 15 years experience in various marketing and business roles across the Telecom and Media sectors. He began his career at MCI WorldCom, where he was responsible for the European marketing of network solutions that enabled telecom operators to enhance their internet access, applications and service portfolios. Joining Technicolor in 2003, he helped create the Company’s VoIP devices strategy, before becoming involved with Video-over-IP products and systems in 2004 where he lead the marketing and pre-sales efforts for what then became one of the world’s leading IPTV and Mobile TV solutions. Benoit was next appointed VP Digital Home Solutions, responsible for developing and selling a comprehensive range of home network applications and technologies for broadband, cable and telecom operators. As SVP Operational Marketing for the company, his current role combines the areas of Business Divisions Marketing, Solutions Marketing and Market/Segment Marketing. His responsibilities in Technicolor's Digital Home strategy and marketing activities, involve integrating work in user experience, applications and software architectures across the division's market-leading portfolio of Set Top Boxes, Home Gateways and Media Tablets - as well as those additional connected devices needed to support home security, energy management and other emerging application areas. Colin Lawrence, Commercial Director, BBC World News
Colin Lawrence, Commercial Director of BBC World News Ltd, leads the commercial activities for the BBC’s global news network. He’s responsible for delivering BBC World News distribution and advertising sales revenue targets across TV, online and mobile, while ensuring activities support the BBC editorial standards. Last year, Colin led the business into double-digit profit for the first time in the channels history. Alongside his global role, Colin is also Representative Director of BBC World Japan Ltd, working with the Tokyo based team to build and support partnerships with major distribution partners, and to deliver new HD and video-on-demand services in the market. Colin has more than 20 years experience in the broadcast industry, both in domestic and international markets. He’s spent over ten years with the BBC, initially as Strategy and Sales Operations Director and then as Vice President, Sales Strategy, Operations & Commercial Content. In these roles Colin led content partnerships, digital programme development, in-house production and ad-funded programme agreements. Colin’s international experience and broad commercial expertise played a vital role in the establishment of the global in-house advertising sales team at BBC World News and he’s contributed significantly to the channel's exceptional advertising revenue growth. Prior to joining the BBC, Colin was Sales Director of Dow Jones’ Far Eastern Economic Review, a role he took up after spending nearly four years in Hong Kong, working on the launch of NBC and CNBC Asia. He started his career at the UK domestic broadcaster HTV in 1987 and went on to work on the launch of GMTV, the national franchise holder for breakfast television in the UK.

Cees Links, CEO, GreenPeak Technologies
Cees [“case”] Links is a pioneer of the wireless data industry, a visionary leader bringing the world of mobile computing and continuous networking together. Under his responsibility, the first wireless LANs were developed which ultimately became house-hold technology integrated into the PCs and notebooks we are all familiar with. He also pioneered the development of access points, home networking routers and hotspot base stations, all widely used today.
In late 2004 Cees started with GreenPeak Technologies. GreenPeak is a fabless semiconductor company with a strong focus on wireless for ultra low power sense and control networks for remote controls for consumer electronics like TVs and set-top boxes and applications like security and home automation.
Cees’ vision is to “build a smarter world” by developing a communications platform between devices sensing and enabling us to control our lives.
Cees started his career at NCR Computers where he was responsible for the development and launch of the world’s first wireless LAN product in 1990, a major innovation at that time. Throughout several acquisitions and divestitures (NCT, AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems), Cees continued his work in the wireless LAN area, which he turned into a multi-hundreds million dollar business for Agere Systems. He directly closed a deal with Apple Computer in 1999 that ignited the growth of the wireless LAN industry. Though this deal, wireless LANs went on to become a standard notebook feature.
Cees was involved in the establishment of the IEEE 802.11 standardization committee and the Wi-Fi Alliance. He was also instrumental in helping to establish the IEEE 802.15 standardization committee to become the basis for the ZigBee sense and control networking technology and standardization.
Cees Links holds a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Twente University of Technology in Enschede, The Netherlands.

Simon McGrath, General Manager, Europe, thePlatform, a Comcast subsidiary
Simon McGrath leads European operations for thePlatform. Additionally, Simon works with the senior executive team to guide product and commercial strategy for both domestic and international markets. Simon brings more than 20 years of experience leading strategic operational, marketing, sales and engineering initiatives at global organizations to his current position. Prior to his role at thePlatform, Simon served most recently as Chief Marketing Officer and Commercial Director of EMEA at SeaChange International Inc. At SeaChange, McGrath led the acquisition of Mobix Interactive Ltd. as well as held responsibility for all EMEA accounts, technology alliances and go-to-market strategies. Simon holds a master’s degree in computer science from Cambridge University.

Fernando Coloma Miró, Head of Connected Home Services, Telefónica
Accomplished and innovative executive with more than 13 years of experience on product marketing, strategy, business development and sales in different companies of Telefónica Group.
Starting his career in the operating business Telefónica Spain in marketing, sales and strategy areas for Residential and Soho segments. In 2006 he moved to Telefónica Latam corporate area, responsible for business development projects in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Perú.
Since 2009 having a Global Corporate role , first in Telefónica SA, and now in the recently created Digital Telefónica. Currently he is responsible for the Global (Europe and Latam) development and evolution of Connected Home Services within the Digital Home environment, which includes home networking, advance communication services as HD residential Videoconference and Smart Home Services such as home automation, home monitoring or energy management, coordinating with the different OB,s marketing areas the definition of the product/services, the roadmap and the launching in the different countries.
Also responsible for the definition and development of the Home Connectivity Devices (routers, gateways) as the Basic Home Station, looking for synergies and economy between all the Telefónica Group OB,s and the strategic partners.
Fernando holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and degree in Business Administration and in Research and Market Techniques, from Autónoma University Madrid.

Thomas Nogues, Director of Technology, Cable Europe
Thomas Nogues has worked in the Technology, Media and Telecommunication sector for over ten years. In his current position, his main focus is to coordinate Cable Europe's efforts within both technology and regulatory domains.
Before joining Cable Europe, Thomas was Director of technology EMEA for the Motion Picture Association (MPA) Hollywood studios trade association where he specialized on content protection and industry negotiation. For several years, he has been an active participant in worldwide technology standards organizations. Prior to joining the MPA, Thomas held several senior positions at NDS, a leading technology provider of conditional access and middleware solutions. He began his career in the semiconductor industry working for ST Microelectronics both in France and the UK.
Thomas holds a Master in Business Administration from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, an Engineering degree in Telecoms from "Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications" Telecom ParisTech and a degree in Applied Physics from Grenoble University.

R. Uwe Placzek, CEO, Acetrax
A pragmatic thinker and creative mind, Uwe combines a broad range of business and industry experience. He managed a host of successful high-tech projects in the automotive and telecom industry and was founder and Managing Director of M2Y, the white label music platform at Siemens serving large telcos such as T-Online (musicload), T-Mobile, AOL, Telstra and O2, which in 2003 launched the world's first over the air music service.
Uwe holds a university degree in design engineering.
His interests are manifold and he most enjoys travelling, scuba diving, reading and playing the piano.

Jerome Rota is the Senior Vice President of Consumer Products and Services at PacketVideo (PV). Prior to joining PV, Jerome was the creator of the DivX technology and is one of the co-founders of DivX, inc., where he held various positions ranging from engineering lead to VP of Media Experience. During his tenure at DivX, Jerome served on the Board of Directors that oversaw the sale of the company to Sonic Solutions then to Rovi. Jerome is an accomplished editor, compositing infographist, special effects designer and has extensive knowledge of video technologies. He has been involved in computing, graphics and digital video since the age of six, and was formerly technical director and chief infographist for a commercial design firm. Christopher Schouten, Senior Marketing Director - Online, Irdeto

Vassilis Seferidis, Director, European Business Development, Samsung
Vassilis Seferidis is Director of Business Development for Samsung Electronics responsible for product planning and business development in the European market.
He has more than 20 years experience in the Consumer Electronics market mainly in Strategic Business Planning and Product Management roles. Prior to Samsung, he held senior management positions at Toshiba Information Systems, Philips Electronics, British Standards Institute and British Telecom.
Vassilis joined Samsung from QIO Systems Inc., an innovative wearable electronics company which he co-founded and acted as CTO from 2006 to 2009 when the company was acquired by Venture Capital Partners.
Vassilis holds a BSc and MSc from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, a PhD from Essex University and an MBA from Cass Business School (City University), London.

Bram Tijdhof, Senior Strategy Manager, Ziggo
Bram Tijdhof is Senior Strategy Manager at Ziggo, which he joined in 2009. Ziggo is the largest Dutch cable operator with over 3 million clients, offering television, internet and telephony services. Bram’s main focus is Ziggo’s long term strategy and strategy development of Ziggo’s different business units. In this role he was a.o. involved in the development of Ziggo’s new TV strategy.
Prior to joining Ziggo, Bram worked for the Boston Consulting Group in various countries, where he supported clients across multiple industries in developing strategies for growth and divestment, devising and implementing corporate restructurings and market entry strategies. Tom Weiss is General Manager of TV Genius (www.tvgenius.net) at Red Bee Media. Recently acquired by Red Bee Media, TV Genius offers relevant search and recommendation technology. Combined with rich metadata, the software acts as a key differentiator in addressing the content discovery challenge. With a strong software engineering background, Tom was previously VP of key service introduction at T-Mobile, where he was responsible for creating ARPU increasing and churn reducing programs, such as the pan-European mobile TV service for the Euro 2004 football championships. Tom has an MA in Physics from Oxford University.

Raoul Wijgergangs is Sigma Designs' Executive Vice President for Global Business Development and Sales. Before joining Sigma Designs, Mr. Wijgergangs worked at Philips for ten years and held key positions, including Senior Director of Global Sales and Marketing for WiFi and Bluetooth, and founded Arcadyan, Philips' joint venture with Accton. Raoul holds a MBA as well as a B. Eng. degree in computer science.

BArthur has served information technology companies for over 20 years. He has a long experience with business development of software packages, documentary information systems and ERP- and outsourcing solutions. International experience was build up by Arthur during his period working as business development manager EU for SSI, a subsidiary of the Shell Group, and working with a digital home lifestyle company that sold solutions to national and international project developers as well as consumers. Now he coordinates the work for Parks Associates in Europe as EU Research Representative.

Brett Sappington, Director, Research, Parks Associates
Brett Sappington is currently a director of research with Parks Associates.
Brett has spent over fifteen years in the industry as an executive manager and entrepreneur, building new businesses and new divisions for technology and business services firms. Previously, he founded and served as vice president of sales and marketing for Teligy, a software company specializing in embedded software for wired and wireless communications systems. Brett established new divisions for audio/multimedia software and networking for Intelligraphics. He has also been involved in the development and marketing of early-market products for 802.11 wireless networking, PC-based VoIP, and other technologies.
With a comprehensive understanding of all areas of marketing for technical product and service companies, including product development, strategic planning, and marketing communications, Brett knows the critical role that market research serves in the success of market-driven companies. He is able to work with Parks Associates’ clients to arm them with the market information they need to succeed in their business.
Brett holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in high-tech marketing and a BA in physics from Baylor University.
