Early Sponsors Announced for CONNECTIONS™: The
Digital Living Conference and Showcase
Parks Associates and CEA today announced the
early sponsors for
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital
Living Conference and Showcase, to be held at the Santa Clara
Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif., on May 1-3, 2007.
CONNECTIONS™,
the leading conference and showcase for the “digital living” markets,
provides a venue for learning and networking among high-level industry
executives and a showcase area featuring demonstrations of the latest
digital technologies.
These technologies have captured the interest of U.S. households and
will have strong growth in sales both now and in the coming years,
according to Parks Associates research. Over 16 million U.S. broadband
households have strong interest in connected home entertainment
applications such as whole-house DVR solutions. In addition, 39% of
broadband households with a data network and 37% of broadband households
without a data network consider multimedia networking applications highly
valuable.
“The disruptive power of today’s digital living technologies cannot be
underestimated,” said
Stuart Sikes, president of Parks Associates. “Given consumer interest
in advanced TV features, the introduction of these services into the home
will transform the set-top box into a complete service platform that
integrates entertainment, information, communications, and
commerce-related applications. At CONNECTIONS™, we will discuss the
implications of these technologies, for the short and long term, for both
consumer and for the digital living industries.”
