Yahoo! Keynote at CONNECTIONS™ to Address the
Potential of Media Content in the Living Room
CONNECTIONS™ announced
today Patrick
Barry, Vice President, Digital Home, Yahoo! Inc., will deliver the
keynote
Translating the Internet Experience onto the Television on May 3,
2007, at
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital
Living Conference and Showcase.
CONNECTIONS™ will be
held May 1-3, 2007, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Now in its
eleventh year,
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital
Living Conference and Showcase, produced by Parks Associates in
partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association, is the largest
executive conference and showcase dedicated to examining the markets,
technologies, and consumer trends for the residential and mobile
environments.
Mr. Barry’s keynote will take place from 1:30-2:00 PM and will address
the changing environment for television services and the vast
opportunities for integrating Web content into the “10-foot experience” of
television viewing. He will discuss the efforts of Yahoo! in developing
the Web’s intersection with television, including content opportunities on
both sides that present new and exciting ways to engage consumers.
Parks Associates research reveals 31% of U.S. consumers watch streaming
Internet video at least monthly. “The audience for streaming video is
growing fast,” said
Kurt Scherf,
vice president, principal analyst at Parks Associates. “Presenting
Internet content through the traditional television experience opens many
opportunities across multiple industries. Yahoo! will bring a great
perspective to the CONNECTIONS™ audience.”
