CONNECTIONS™ Announces HomePlug Powerline Alliance
Special Session
Parks Associates and CEA® announced today the HomePlug Powerline
Alliance will host the special session
“Enabling Connected Digital Lifestyles” during
CONNECTIONS™ on
Thursday, May 3rd.
“HomePlug Powerline technology has quickly evolved into an effortless
way to connect the technology in your home, and with more than eight
million HomePlug-enabled products in use on six continents – HomePlug is
the authority on seamless powerline connectivity,” said
Matt Theall, president of the
HomePlug Powerline Alliance. “For those interested in the digital home and
capabilities of powerline, this session will provide valuable insight and
expertise from industry leaders within the HomePlug Alliance including
Arkados, Intel, Intellon and Texas Instruments.”
CONNECTIONS™ will take
place May 1-3, 2007, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Now in its
eleventh year,
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital
Living Conference and Showcase, produced by Parks Associates in
partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association, is the largest
executive conference and showcase dedicated to examining the markets,
technologies, and consumer trends for residential and mobile environments.
The HomePlug Powerline Alliance will host this session on
May 3rd from
10:30-11:30 a.m. and plan to discuss the evolution of powerline
technology, its current use in a variety of consumer applications, and
what the future has in store for this technology.
The HomePlug Powerline Alliance is an industry-led initiative
established to create standards for home high-speed powerline networking
products and command and control applications within the home and to the
home.
Speakers on the panel include
Oleg Logvinov, president and CEO of Arkados, Inc.;
Andreas Melder, SVP of strategic
business development for Intellon Corporation;
Michael Stich, director of
service provider strategic marketing at Texas Instruments, Inc.; and
Matt Theall, president of the
HomePlug Powerline Alliance and powerline initiative manager at Intel
Corp. Kurt Scherf, vice
president and principal analyst at Parks Associates, will moderate the
panel.
