Lifestyle Solutions, Including the Home Control and Automation Sector
CONNECTIONS™: The Digital Home Conference and Showcase today
announced that the inaugural
INSTEON™ Development and
Technology Conference will be held in conjunction with the
CONNECTIONS™ Conference in May. CONNECTIONS™, produced by Parks Associates
in partnership with Consumer Electronics Association, will be held May
2-4, 2006, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
The INSTEON
Development and Technology Conference, organized and produced by
SmartLabs Inc., will be held from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on May 2, 2006. The
conference will be open to current developers as well as to those
interested in more information regarding INSTEON technology. The
conference will showcase the proliferation of INSTEON’s home control
networking standard in the electronic home improvement and automation
market through products in development from partner companies. SmartLabs
executives, development partners, and guest speakers will present new
technology insights and unique INSTEON applications, as well as examples
and new data regarding current and future market opportunities.
“CONNECTIONS™, with its focus on digital lifestyle solutions for the
home, was an obvious choice to launch our first INSTEON home control
networking developers and technology conference,” said Ken Fairbanks, Vice
President, Business Development, SmartLabs Inc. “We’re proud of INSTEON’s
rapid adoption and look forward to highlighting the many examples of
INSTEON at work and in use by consumers today. From our unique market
vantage point as the distribution channel (Smarthome.com), manufacturer (SmartLabs
Design), and technology platform (INSTEON), we are excited to share these
successes and encourage discussions about this growing market.”
Now in its tenth year,
CONNECTIONS™ is the largest executive conference and showcase
dedicated to advanced digital lifestyle solutions for residential and
mobile environments. Topics at the event include Digital Entertainment;
Mobile Platforms & Services; Business Challenges for Digital Home
Technologies/Services; Home Networking and Infrastructure Technology; Home
Management and Digital Health; and Broadband and IP Services.
“Chief among the applications that will drive greater adoption of home
management solutions will be those that enhance safety, security, energy
management, peace-of-mind, and convenience,” said
Tricia Parks,
CEO of Parks Associates. “The development of low-cost and reliable home
management technologies such as INSTEON will be key to delivering useful
solutions into the hands of consumers.”
Parks Associates’ data indicate that market revenues for home
management controllers aimed specifically at lighting, security, central
control, and HVAC control grew an estimated 53% by the end of 2005. The
annual market value for controller sales will be nearly $1.3 billion at
the end of 2009.
