CONNECTIONS™: The Digital Home Conference
and Showcase announces dates for 2006
Parks Associates announced today the 2006
CONNECTIONS™ : The
Digital Home Conference and Showcase will be held May 2-4 at
the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. Produced by
Parks Associates in partnership with CEA, CONNECTIONS™ is the
leading conference for the discussion and analysis of current and
future technologies and services for the digital home. The event’s
speakers and attendees are among the business leaders in this
market segment.
Parks Associates forecasts that 69% of U.S. broadband
households will have a residential gateway (RG) by 2009, driven in
large part by service providers. In the next five years, cable,
DSL, and other broadband vendors will deploy voice-over-IP (VoIP)
and multimedia services aggressively, which will boost the market
for RGs.
“As service providers deploy home networking solutions directly
to the consumer, the number of available entertainment
applications will increase exponentially,” said
Tricia
Parks, president of Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS™ provides a
congenial setting for thought and market leaders to discuss and
debate key factors currently driving and inhibiting the consumer
markets for digital content and products.”
In May 2005, CONNECTIONS™ hosted over 730 executives and more
than 100 corporate, media, and supporting sponsors. Every year,
CONNECTIONS™ focuses on the current status and future
opportunities in the following industry areas:
- digital entertainment;
- residential gateways;
- home networks;
- broadband-related infrastructure and services; and
- home management.
CONNECTIONS™ is also hosting six interactive sessions at
2006
International CES, which will take place January 5-8, 2006, in Las
Vegas, Nev. Each session, moderated by Parks Associates’ expert
analysts and featuring a panel of industry executives, will
discuss and evaluate the evolution of consumer music experiences,
portable entertainment devices, digital distribution of media, and
the management of home networks. For more information, please
