Lunch with Keynote Speaker Real-time digital connectivity: The coming revolution in home and professional digital electronics
Henry Juszkiewicz Mr. Juszkiewicz will talk about the new high-bandwidth, low-latency, digital transport technology and how it will revolutionize not just our electronic equipment, but our lives and our culture. Just as engineers in the age of vacuum tubes couldn’t fully grasp how profoundly the world would be changed by the transistor, and transistor designers could never have imagined the cultural changes that have come as a result of the integrated circuit, we can predict only the most immediate innovations that new digital transport technology will bring, such as digital guitars, simplified-yet-more-sophisticated home audio systems and live concert sound systems, etc. The possibilities are literally beyond imagination. |

Whole Home Entertainment Distribution – Creating Value Throughout the
Chain
The value a consumer places on content or services is proportional to its availability. However, there is not yet a good way available for most consumers to distribute content throughout their homes. Retail solutions should avoid professional installations or consumer adoption issues. Content and service providers demand content protection and quality delivery. Operators want to manage distribution to and within the home. Consumers want both privacy and easy access. Everyone requires adequate bandwidth for simultaneous, multiple applications and guaranteed quality consistent with premium pay services; a difficult task for wireless and existing wires solutions. In addition, so many product connections, including DVI, 1394, Ethernet, RCA jacks, coax, and S-Video, make accessing content a confusing and frustrating experience. While daunting, these issues are being solved. This panel of experts including service operators, CE and set-top-box manufacturers, and technology providers, will answer the crucial questions - How and When? Moderator: |
