In this session, hear from leading companies as they put “rubber to the road” in matching specific consumer interests with home networking product solutions.

In this session, leading players in consumer products, white goods, and services discuss their strategies and solutions for delivering connected appliance services, increasing revenue streams, and enhancing value to the end user.

Session 3C: Delivering The Trinity:  Voice/Video/Data Over Broadband
The profitability of legacy infrastructures continues to decline as traditional “cash cow” services become commodities differentiated mainly by price. Increasingly, this trend is extending into the broadband realm, where narrowing margins for raw transport and Internet access services exacerbate the “profit squeeze.”

Service providers seek to combat this commoditization by leveraging their existing backbone network assets in new ways. By finding cost-effective ways to “add value to packets” (i.e., to deliver higher-margin IP services) – including data, voice, and video services – companies can attract and retain a lucrative customer base.

This session looks at technologies that turn the promise of IP into reality, discusses the prime markets for such services, and provides a roadmap for future service provisioning.

To achieve this objective, the Alliance has established a rigorous pilot program and has made it available to all of its members. Each Alliance pilot includes customer-focused research studies and a complete end-to-end solution development process, which tests real world products and connected home solutions.

Hear Tony Barra, and other industry leaders discuss how they are leading the industry through the Internet Home Alliance’s Listen, Learn, Lead strategy. This strategy has generated new pilot opportunities for current Alliance members, such as GM, Invensys, ADT, HP, and Panasonic with the OnStar @ Home pilot.

You will hear additional insights about the consumers who are next to adopt connected lifestyle products and services. Learn the benefits that are important to consumers in a family communication solution and gain insights on the Alliance’s next pilot program.
