Alexa Leads Way In Ever-Growing Smart Speaker Segment.

Alexa is certainly making herself at home. Growth of voice assistants such as Amazon’s Echo and Google Home have more than doubled over the last year alone. For Sprint, T-Mobile, Plans Will Be Unlimited—And Less.

Wireless data usage is growing steadily from 2015-16 as consumers shift data-heavy activities from desktop to mobile. According to Parks Associates’ latest survey data, average monthly wireless data consumption grew 28% from the third quarter of 2015 to the second quarter of 2016. And among mobile consumers under 25, there was a 38% increase in data use per month from 2015.

Smartphone Owners Like Sounds Of Streaming

According to research firm Parks Associates, smartphone owners spend more time per day listening to music on their device compared to other major entertainment activities, and 68% of smartphone owners are listening to streaming music daily on their phones. In addition, 71% of smartphone owners watch short video clips on their devices. For now, consumers are more engaged with streamed audio, spending an average 45 minutes per day listening, compared to 24 minutes per day watching more

Hyundai: CarPlay in Sonata in Q1

According to Parks Associates, 40 million U.S. vehicles will be connected to the Internet, Mediapost reports. And, when car owners in broadband households go to purchase their next vehicle, 64% said they want integrated support for at least one connected activity in the car. Park Associates’ survey indicated that consumers also want wider adoption of Apple and Android in-vehicle software, as well as more access to music apps.
