Can “The Avengers” Save 3D TV?

The record-breaking box office success of “The Avengers,” in large part due to higher-priced 3D tickets, will increase consumer demand for access to 3D movies at home, according to analysts. New research from the international firm shows U.S. 3D TV owners are satisfied with their TVs. A majority of them use their 3D TVs on a monthly basis, and 65% want access to more 3D movies.

Growth of pay-TV services in Brazil increased by over 30% in 2011

Global research finds Brazil is outpacing Russia, China, and India in its growth rate for pay-TV subscriptions and its household discretionary spending for movies, music, and games is nearly double that of China.

During 2011, pay-TV service subscriptions in Brazil increased by over 30%, and broadband service subscriptions grew by 20%. By comparison, service growth in Russia and China is at or below 20%.

LG's Flexible e-Ink Display, Quite Impressive

LG announced that it has begun mass production of the world's first flexible e-ink display. The technology, known as electronic paper display (EPD), will enable e-reader manufacturers to produce thinner devices. This device features a 6-inch panel that promises to "revolutionize the e-book market". New Consumer Survey Examines Apple iPhone 4S Users and Satisfaction with Device Features

55% of U.S. users of Apple iPhone 4S are “very satisfied” with the Siri voice-command feature, according to new consumer research from the international research firm Parks Associates. The survey, featured in Apple iPhone Siri Users, finds an additional 21% are “satisfied” which totals over three quarters or 76% satisfied, leaving a small number of dissatisfied users.
