by Parks Associates | Nov. 7, 2018

Prior to Parks Associates’ 13th-annual CONNECTIONS Europe: Strategies for the Smart Home and Consumer Iot conference, Victor Berrios, VP, Technology, Zigbee Alliance shared insights with the analyst team to address the challenges and revenue opportunities with growing the smart home industry in Europe.

Victor will be participating on the Making Magic: Interoperability and Integration panel on Tuesday, November 13 at 14:00. Panelists joining him on this session include:

Avi Barel, Director Business Development, ULE Alliance
Cees Links, General Manager, Qorvo, Inc.
Joep van Eijden, Business Development Executive, Silicon Labs

What are the largest recurring revenue opportunities for the smart home industry in Europe?
As a standards development organization, we are not in a position to comments on recurring revenue opportunities.

What are the biggest challenges rolling out new smart home products and services in Europe?
Based on membership feedback, the delivery of a “uniform” user experience across an ecosystem made up of products from a diverse set of providers is currently one of the biggest challenges facing the Smart Home market in Europe.

What channels to market are driving growth in the smart home industry?
We are seeing large growth vectors surrounding the “big brand” ecosystems. A company with a recognizable name in the consumer space makes it easy for consumers to enter the smart home and also makes it easier for smaller product companies to “attach” themselves to the ecosystem.

We’re looking forward to hearing you present, but what are you most looking forward to about the show this year?
Looking forward to learn how the Smart Home market in Europe has progressed since last year and to make new connections.
